Ok great its good to hear what its "really" like, god knows how the manufacturers manage to get these claimed mpg figures, prob down hill with a strong wind
Id agree on the price of the T5 and diesels, a lot more expensive, currently looking at sub £300 a month for v90 R-Design T4 MY19 on 8000 a yr, which seems about right for the other santander quotes posted on here
My my19 t4 r design deal is £314 per month via Santander for 10000 miles per year. Id agree on the price of the T5 and diesels, a lot more expensive, currently looking at sub £300 a month for v90 R-Design T4 MY19 on 8000 a yr, which seems about right for the other santander quotes posted on here

Yeah that sounds right, how do you find the car ? All I'm worried about really is not having enough poke on motorways for over taking when fully loaded with fuel, kids and luggage, the diesel Mazda I have now isn't fast but had plenty of torque for those sort of situations
I haven’t got it yet. It’s been at the dealers about 2 months but I’m not collecting until mid July. Gudgera said:
Hi Im looking at the T4 v90 on the Santander deal, can anyone give their thoughts on the T4 engine ? Torn between this and paying the extra for a T5, Im coming out of a Mazda 6 Tourer 2.2d with around 180bhp.
HiHad my s90 t4 for a week now, been to Paris and back already. Best I saw on French motorway at about 75/80mph was 40mpg. However 2 runs this weekend in suburban north London weekend traffic 20 miles each way, we averaged 20mpg. However my t4 was super cheap at 280pm for 12k miles on 3years. a D4 or T5 was then £50/£80 pm more (ordered 6 months ago). Has enough power for daily use OK not a racer but quiet and comfortable, our return trip from Paris, we were in the car 7 hours (30mins standing up on eurotunnel) we were fresh as a daisy on getting home. Pilot assist and adaptive cruise control works really well.

This pretty much reflects my experience so far. My mileage has primarily been up and down the motorway (100 miles each way) - have been sticking it in adaptive cruise at 73mph and Pro Pilot and relaxing. I'm getting just over 40mpg on the motorway, my overall combined for all my miles is 33mpg (I have done very little urban driving). Much like yourself, the deal was so cheap for the T4 R Design (£265 a month for 24 months, £1,200 down) that it should work out over the duration. I'm used to driving my Dad's Golf R so it's quite a difference but I've embraced it and now enjoy wafting around in comfort.

Anyone else have issues with the Parking sensors. All most had 2 near misses with cars behind because the sensors suddenly tell your to stop.
I've had no problems with my sensors yet - I had seen a lot of complaints about them earlier in this thread so was worried, but nothing has happened yet to make me think they are coming on too late. I did get a bit of surprise about the parking brake causing a jerk but have since looked it up and apparently it's common with automatics finding the resting point for the handbrake to be applied and it's possible to reduce this effect by selecting neutral and coming off the brakes before engaging park.
My lease of Volvo s90 d4 has just finished. I've handed the car back. Manheim collected it. They said they will charge £60 for one scuffed wheel.
One question; is it possible to get refund for unused miles? I've used 50% less then my allowance.
Nice big car. I think i'm gonna try a small quick car next.
Note about service, for anyone in London: I've had my first year service here: https://dundalkmotors.co.uk/
They charged me £156 (online booking special price) , much cheaper than official service. They were nice.

Parking takes some getting used to but once you figure out that they only start beeping once you are quite close it's fine.Pilot assist is wonderful on long motorway trips. I managed 38mpg on a 200 mile run this weekend (T5).
My car was delivered to-day, S90 T4 R Design in Osmium Grey, driven to my door, so has 260 or so miles on the clock. It is a LOT bigger then the Golf GTi it has replaced, on the plus side, the delivery of the Volvo and collection of the VW both happened to-day within 5hrs.
Parking sensors are a bit late to the party when telling you that you are close to something, but maybe my car needs the April updates, unless the dealerships would have done that for all of the recent cars as a matter of course.
Quite amusing was advising the insurers of the change of vehicle, even with the £25 admin fee, and the fact the S90 is about £40k value, I am due a £7.30
refund! Obviously the Volvo is seen as a slightly more pipe and slippers affair compared to the GTi.
Amazing amount of space front and back, and the boot is HUGE, obviously I am used to hatchbacks, but still.

Exactly the same as me, I imagine you're just as pleased with it as I am. Shows how big it is that you couldn't fit it all into the picture, haha! I came from a MINI and transferred what I normally stored in that boot - feels like I'll never fill it! We will be going camping at some point so I'll give it a good try.

Only 3 more weeks to wait
Did we reach a conclusion on whether RTTI comes via the built in SIM if there's no external SIM provided?
I don't think there is a built-in SIM. I've only ever had RTTI working on mine via my phone's data connection or using the 3 free data SIM I installed.Only 3 more weeks to wait

I have both the built-in and a 3 SIM, and I do get RTTI.
Might be worth having a read here- this article speaks about ensuring it is activated. Not sure if it will work without the third-party sim- only one way to try!

I believe there is a built-in sim, only to be used for Volvo OnCall.

Not surprisingly, if you have your own SIM installed - what about if you take it out though?I have both the built-in and a 3 SIM, and I do get RTTI.
Having had a BMW with RTTI previously, the built-in SIM did that and the on-call stuff. It would be a shame if Volvos have a built-in SIM but only for on-call.
