The Volvo S90/V90 lease thread

Are you guys all Santander customers who are having questionable charges?
Yes, Santander.Previous 2 Golf R’s had minimal charges.
I find the practise of having an inspection then telling you the rectifications a bit poor.
If I knew they were going to charge twice the cost (more or less) of a tyre, I’d have popped out and got them done prior to collection.
Can I just ask as this v90 with Santander is my first lease vehicle.
Do they do an inspection on collection. Mark it down on a form. Get you to sign it. Take the car away. Get it thoroughly inspected when it's back. Then contact you with the final revised costs?
Or have I misunderstood?

It's a bit poor yes. What if the collecting driver curbs an alloy? Any issues should be agreed and signed off at collection. Or if not agreed, at least acknowledged. Eg, a 1cm, thin scratch. Acknowledged, but not accepting a charge due to allowed wear and tear.Previous 2 Golf R’s had minimal charges.

I'm seriously considering a V90 Estate to scratch my Estate itch even though I have no dog or bike.
I'm spending a small fortune in fuel in my current M4 so this would replace this - I'm assuming the one to go for in order to save on fuel is the Diesel variant? So the D4/D5? Whats the main different in the R-Design part?
The only thing I'm bothered about is tinted rear windows, pan roof and blue paint.

According to volvocars.co.uk, R-Design Plus gets adaptive headlights, paddle shifters, and HUD, as well as the sport seats, mats and interior trim. The only thing I'm bothered about is tinted rear windows, pan roof and blue paint.

So... Only the HUD over and above MY18 R-Design? Must be more than that.
19” wheels Power boot
This was the email I received, although I’m not sure how accurate it is!
I understand that we have some S90s that were converted from MY19 to MY20. Below is a list of spec changes;
The Volvo S90 benefits from variant simplification for MY20. Pro trim levels have been discontinued and the range now consists of the following three trim levels; - Momentum Plus
R-Design Plus
Inscription Plus
• The Momentum benefits from the following additional standard equipment; - Rear Park Assist Camera - Power Driver Seat - Front Foglights (n/a T8 Twin Engine) - Keyless Drive - Multidirectional Lumbar Support - 18” Alloy Wheels (D4) - 2 x USB R-Design Plus
• In addition to the above, R-Design benefits from; - 19” Alloy Wheels - Tinted Windows - Head-Up Display - Active Bending Headlamps - Headlight Cleaning System Inscription Plus
• And the Inscription benefits from; - 19” Alloy Wheels - Head-Up Display - Active Bending Headlamps - Headlight Cleaning System - Perforated/Ventilated Nappa Leather Upholstery - Front Seat Backrest Massage Packs and Options
• Tempa Spare Wheel becomes an option across the range. As a relatively heavy option, the removal of Tempa as standard will benefit the WLTP CO2 values that we need to start communicating later this year.
• MY19 Seat Packs are removed.
• Smartphone Integration is bundled with Premium Sound options and remains available as a retailer accessory solution.
• BLIS is upgraded to include Steer Assist function and is re-named ‘Intellisafe Surround’.
• Electric Silver and Magic Blue deleted as exterior colours.
T4 MPG Update:
Having had the hump with its thirst on motorways Im pleased to say that Im now reasonably happy
My car is a Sept 2018 build and initially drank like a fish and then settled down to approx 34mpg on long journeys at a decent speed.
It is cheap enough for this not to be an issue however I was really hacked off by the limited range it offered with a relatively small fuel tank, it chews through miles and is otherwise an absolutely fabulous place to sit for hours on end.
The main frustration is that the in laws are a 340 mile round trip with only a few miles of A/B road and the rest is motorway.
Every other car Ive had could do this without needing fuel on the return leg but not the V90.
Until now
It had a meltdown at the beginning of summer resulting in a software update after which its much, much better. Coincidence or otherwise I dont know but it had approx 4k miles on the clock so should have been nicely run in
After weeks of little use - holidays etc - I did a 7h round trip in it yesterday with an average consumption of 40mpg and the trip showing a range of over 400 miles from a full tank
Lovely car, but programming the satnav still does my head in
Cheers

Agree re the SatNav so I just use the app before we go somewhere and send it to the car... much easier. I'll even do this when sitting in the car also!Having had the hump with its thirst on motorways Im pleased to say that Im now reasonably happy

Was in the back seat of the V90 CC and how big is the gap between the back seat and the boot cover, must be about an inch. Seen as everything else on the interior is great, this is rather large.
I noticed there is a magnet flap with 2 hook type items. No idea why.....anyone know?
What? This flap that folds over and covers the gap?I noticed there is a magnet flap with 2 hook type items. No idea why.....anyone know?
