I would question as to whether or not that was any help at all...biggrin

Map updates were performed in the dealership while I was waiting as per my post... or do I just install any Map update and the update notification will go away?
If it helps, the last update I installed yesterday for Europe was;

Software Details
Published 05/09/2019
Version 1273

Please note that it is illegal to use this map in Turkey. biggrin

The updates are usually map updates. I think there’s a bug as if I enter the download centre from the new updates notification the install button is greyed out, if I access it by swiping to the right on the screen it works.

A bit of a review. 1500 miles in a fortnight.
Gave the t4 some right pedal today.
It’s a bit rough isn’t it.
Sounded like i was thrashing a Korean built hire car.
Otherwise it has proved an extremely pleasant place to be on our holiday jaunt (200 miles each way) and 1k last week for work including a coast to coast trek at the widest bit of the country.
When you’re not mashing the pedal it’s really quiet, and the ride is very cosseted.
When you are it feels remote andlacks the connected feel of any of the Germans.
I got it as a tool for a job and it will be great at doing that job. But like a screwdriver with a plastic handle it’s weaknesses will show up when you try to hammer it.

1st SERVICE CONTENT:

As previously mentioned I collected my car in November last year when my last lease expired which was cordially agreed by the supplying dealer at time of order.

Some time after collection I noticed that the service indicator had been set for a date in mid October this year which was presumably when it was PDI'd at the dealers not on the date I collected it. This was an irritation but as the car is on an 18/12 lease isnt an issue as I will not have it for the expensive second service.

For information it flashed that it needed a service last week exactly one calendar month from when Sensus said it was due.
My last BMW was less specific and only gave the month. This means that if it was due on 1st October I could have sent it back a day
early on the 30th September with no service indicator showing.

Otherwise its still great.

Motorway fuel consumption for a T4 is now a reliable 40mpg at a 'healthy' average speed and I take issue with the post above as I have never had any expectation of it being anything other than a fabulously wafty barge with a banging stereo and superbly cosseting electric seats.

In the last 2 days I have done 500 miles which it chewed up effortlessly.

Cheers

Agreed it’s a great mile muncher.

It’s also faster and more economical than I thought.
hehe

1411mpg at 958 mph average is impressive!

Out with the old and in with the new...

Collected the V90 CC from the local Volvo dealership yesterday, overall happy with the process but could have been slicker. Advised them the week before to update the software/systems and reset the service interval. On the day they were still updating the maps and installing the 100Gb SIM. Not ideal but not the end of the world. Very comfortable and smooth to drive with a very luxurious cabin.

I've searched back in this thread but can't find the answers to these questions:

1. The temperature on the drivers side always defaults to 22 even when you change it to 20. This has been tried with both keys. Any ideas?
2. Is there a way to do a folder listing from a music source (i.e. USB stick or Phone)?
3. It says Software Update Available but when you click on System Updates and Application updates there is nothing there?

Thanks in advance!
A bit of an update for everyone - I took another look at the drivers profiles and remembered that when the guy at the dealership was setting up the key for me, for some unknown reason he locked the profiles which meant it would not save changes. Quite why he did this is beyond me. Unticked that option and now all is saving perfectly.

Loving the ride of the car, it's so smooth. In fact I find myself constantly checking my speed because, compared to the Golf R, it does creep up the speed without you realising due to how quiet it is.

Just had my invoices through from Santander for handing my V90 back 9 months early. Never handed a lease back early so wasn't quite sure what to expect.

1st one was for £965 as 50% of the remaining rentals, which I obviously knew about and expected

2nd one was for £290 for damage - which was way less than I was expecting as I managed to annihilate 2 alloys to the point I considered replacing them

3rd one was a credit note for £775 to return the percentage of the initial rental that covered the remaining term - that I did not expect!

It's been a lovely morning!

Glad you're enjoying the car so far.

Your story about the dealer locking profiles reminded me of the guy who delivered mine. He'd driven it from the midlands to Aberdeen and had obviously been calling his wife/girlfriend using the in car bluetooth and had forgotten to clear the system when he got out. I got one hell of a roasting from my missus when she went to use it and there was a bunch of call history to 'Babsy Bigt!ts' in the Sensus system laugh

WTAF??? I'd have rejected that straight away, it looks as if it's been through Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria on the way from China.

What was the mileage at handover? Mine was reset/clocked to 0. They'd held it for 6 months and said they'd 'moved it around a bit', I do wonder how much they used it, although aside from some free swirl marks it was perfect.

101 miles.

It’s the swirl marks that piss me off the most, but it sounds like they’re going to pay to have it rectified, and a chips away type company to sort the other bits. I guess I’ll live with the windscreen chip as long as the don’t shaft me for it on return!

That said, it’s a fab car. Engine not the smoothest but more poke than I was expecting. Adaptive cruise is brilliant!!

Do you also find the distance it sits behind a car can vary quite a bit?

There's been the rare occasion where even on the highest setting it's barely leaving a 2 second gap for me.

Conversely I've also had it where it can sit way, way back.
