Be careful with collections through bca. Had my S90 collected today, only two points on report but costly. Alloy wheel slight curb around 65-70mm charge of £60. Small dent under 15mm on bumper with couple of tiny paint chips £200.
Other than that the guy was ok smile

Not been on here since my V90 was delivered last June. Pleased I did because wasn't aware of the Santander 3 month covid extension. Thank you to all who have highlighted this - very useful. Stuff like that makes this thread invaluabe.
My car is on a 2 year lease, but I bought the 3 services for 399 deal so there is no issue with keeping it longer. Other than tyres which I cannot see being an issue it seems to be completely catch free?? In many ways covers the fact that the car hasn't been opened or moved for 10 weeks - hopefully it will start!

Always worth challenging return charges if you consider them to be unreasonable, they usually come to some form of a compromise.

Loving the S90, though only done 250 miles in 2 months! You wouldn't believe how long I spent trying to work out how the rear windscreen wiper works... confusedlaugh Plonker...

Kinda wish in a way I was in the market and could buy my old V60 though. 18 months old and sitting at Manheim ready to be auctioned... found it by a search on the number plate. With the backup of auction sales surely it will go cheap? Immaculate and low mileage and I know where it has been. Will have to watch out for it...

Evening Folks, Just a wee question for anyone who have taken advantage of the 3 month payment holiday from Santander. Did you have to forward on any evidence of furlough or loss of earnings e.t.c ? I have been furloughed for 3 weeks only up till now. I quite fancy having the flexibility of returning my car later or on scheduled date depending on what deals are available in a years time. Thanks.

No. They just asked if I was affected financially I confirmed this and told them I had had all overtime cancelled and was being furloughed the week after. That was enough.

BCA collected my V90 on Friday he requested the keys be left at the front door and then spent the next 45mins looking around the car. He then phoned me to say he’d done and said copy of the report will be emailed (nothing mentioned at this point). Now me and the wife have had several lease cars prior and the return inspections usually last about 5-15mins? Thought nothing more about it as our cars are always treated well and we’ve never been charged for anything before. The report arrived 24hrs later with £450 ex vat charges rage
Basically
£200 for what was a small stone chip to front bumper
£150 for light scratch to lacquer rear bumper
£50 hole to headrest (not aware of this)
£50 scuff to quarter panel trim (not aware of this)
Needless to say I replied to the email telling them to go do one. They are basically trying it on expecting a 2yr old car to be showroom condition is a joke.

If you believe the charges are outside of BVRLA guidelines you should dispute them and stand your ground.

Definitely.
Wish I had taken photos.
Who actually receives these charges BCA or the finance company or both?

A question to those who took a V90 deal back when the thread started and folks were very happy to be paying 7k(ish) for a 24 month lease. Would you jump on one of these again at that sort of level, if not why not? Did you not get on with *big* barge motoring, or just want something different, or found it disappointing.

Asking as there are some going at those figures.

Difficult decision buy or lease as the current lease deals for remaining 2020MY are good, but then there are some ex demo (~1000milers) and pre reg (~100milers) going for some v attractive purchase prices.

E.g. T4 Mom plus , 1600miles winter pack, adaptive cruise, head up display and other optional extras, just under 23k. 19 plate.
T4 Inscription, 2500miles, winter pack, 25k 19 plate
T4 Mom plus, 10 miles, Winter pack, 27.5k 69 plate,

I had a T4 Inscription and as long as you know exactly what you're letting yourself in for it was lovely

The interior was a joy on the Inscription and it munches the miles effortlessly. Which highlights that it's a bit thirsty although I eventually saw 40mpg on the motorway and Fuel tank is modest

Yes the gearbox is sluggish, although better after software update, and handling barge like but I actually didn't mind

At the price I'd have happily had another. But a petrol car really would have to be cheap, urban mpg is awful

Cheers

EDIT: budget for fixed yearly servicing too which is a bit of a drag. They alternate minor and major

Thanks, too many short journeys for diesel so would have to be petrol, and surprisingly it's slightly narrower and only 400mm longer than current daily. Got to the stage where last two years the annual service cost, service, mot, plus necessary bits and bobs, has been 1000 and 750 respectively, so how bad can it be?

I love it as a family barge for not much money, it does that job very well and the interior feels quite special. I'm rather pleased that I've managed to extend my 18 month lease to 21 months and will happily take another if I can find a similar deal. I can easily forgive the shortcomings in handling/displacement/economy (T5 CC) for the price paid. I still have a fun car, which maybe helps, if it was my only car I'd possibly look for a better all-rounder.

My CC goes back in September but might return it early. It's been ok, but the gearbox is dim witted, the economy is woeful and the performance isn't anything special. It's comfortable and spacious, and the VFM from the cheap lease was great, but I won't miss it.

I believe the email was just a estimate from BCA and then it’s up to Santander to follow through with any charges. Personally I have not heard anything from Santander since my inspection and that’s approaching 2 weeks now. After 4 weeks they can’t charge anything.
My inspection was a good 45 minutes too and was very detailed/ picky. I made a note on the inspection form that although I was aware of the damage that was highlighted in the report, I would be challenging both points under the bvlra guidelines. This was detailed in the quote that was then forwarded to me via email. Fingers crossed they won’t bother to enforce the charges and save me the hassle. I did take photos and video walk round incase of such situations.

I am 14 months into a V90 T4 (Momentum) 24-month lease at £258 on 6+23.

Yes I would have another at that price. It's a very good spec for the basic model (current ones are even better).
It is big (would have preferred a V60 but they were £100 per month more) but I can get my bike in the back without taking a wheel off and parking sensors all round means that parking is not a problem.
Fuel economy not great but only did 6,500 miles in the first year so not too bothered.

Can't really help with the choice over lease or buy, but some of those nearly-new deals look attractive!
I would still go with a V60 rather than a V90 if the price was similar as I think it's a better-looking car.

Anyone still with a V90CC had the same recall notice from Santander I got in the post today?

It's a software issue with the automatic emergency braking system that requires a software update at a Volvo dealership workshop.
