That's my V90 CC just collected.
What's next?
Mine went about 6 months ago. There were some deep scratches just a live the grill and one badly curved alloy. The collection guy said he’d report and recommended appealing as the rest of the car was spotless. Volvo sent me a bill for £500. I challenged as recommended and they have never come back to question it. If you get anything, just dispute it and I’m sure you’ll not have to pay a penny.

I challenged my charges and haven't heard back and given that the car has a new owner (they really should reset the on call when ownership changes!). I'm not expecting to hear anything.

Just ordered a new XC60. Not as good a deal as the V90 CC, the likes of which we'll struggle to see again.

Started early termination on wife’s car V90 D4. Quoting me £674.21 (excluding VAT). £809.06 for seven months left which includes the 3 month free extension last year.

What are others views/experience with damage. Last November my wife was hit by someone whilst parked in a car park in a newish XC60 which left the scene. Fortunately we were able to identify the car as a witness passed on a description and reg details. Direct Line chased this and we heard nowt. Two weeks ago I contacted DL who basically had done nothing other than contact the other parties insurance so they chased it up and our local Fire Service Inspector denied causing it.

Anyway smart repairers are quoting £190 + VAT to fix the bodywork scratches. The clown also damaged (scuffed) the alloy. Do others have any idea what BCA/ Manheim might try to charge. The car otherwise is immaculate and 10k below on mileage after 32 months.

Does anyone know why Volvo dealers won't price match Kwikfit servicing?

Around £150 to £200 per scratch depends how they view them.

My V90 went back last June, BCA inspected the car on my driveway as normal (he was there about an hour). However at the end he never knocked on for me to sign and agree to what he had found and just drove off? A few days later got an invoice for £450. I obviously disputed the items and the fact I wasn’t shown or signed to agree the damage. This went on for several months until I got a letter threatening legal action. I opted to refer it to the financial ombudsman and under the ombudsman’s initial review they agreed with Santander/Volvo Finance. I have the option now to appeal and a ‘real’ ombudsman will review the case but the decision will then be final.

So I think you could be lucky like others have mentioned or unlucky like me!

I had the same sort of-had nothing mentioned about damage, costs etc, guy said there's nothing major and if anything does come back just dispute it as Santander can't be bothered with the trouble. My issue was I didn't get chance to view the report but got it emailed and at the bottom said "customer agrees with the charges but didn't sign due to COVID". No I flipping didn't.

I've not heard anything and assuming I won't now with the amount of time that has passed and the car has moved on. The whole COVID thing seems to be a convenient excuse for people to get away with underhand behaviour.

I'd leave it. It's your time and effort to sort your own repairs out.

My vehicle was inspected by a very pleasant Mannheim guy who identified three potentially chargeable areas of damage. I signed the report saying I didn't accept the charges and classed them as wear and tear. Pictures of the three areas of damage attached to this post - would people agree I'm in my right to reject them? The worst of the three is probably the mark on the rear bumper as it's the most visually obvious.

The charges were listed as:

B Post L (Passenger Side) - Dent - PDR £48

Rear Bumper - Scratched - Bumper Centre £80

Sill Extension L (Passenger Side) - Gouged - Smart Repair £90

So a total of £218.

The car was collected on Monday morning and is down near Oxford now (still connected on the Volvo app!). I haven't heard anything from Volvo Finance so far, so was just wondering if anyone could give me a time frame for what happens next, please?

I will owe about £280 for excess mileage which I don't dispute, so imagine they will be in touch about that at some point? I cancelled my Direct Debit with them after the last payment went out so they would need to get in touch for any form of payment to be made.

I'd dispute those, they're all smaller than the specified sizes for chargeable damage that I've seen from various companies.

FWIW my V40 returned last year had these two bumper scuffs, which the guy who did the thorough inspection didn't even mention:

Thanks for that, I was thinking they would fall within fair wear and tear for a two year old vehicle (especially one with 24K on the clock but obviously that's by the by) and only the one on the bumper is easily visible when looking for faults.

I guess I just wait to see what they try and invoice me?

Our Manheim pre collection inspection is due next Wednesday. Apparently they may not take it then but come back for it at a later date. When I took my lease I put down about £3k deposit and it was over 36months. The figure to settle early is exactly half the outstanding monthlies but surely the figure should also be adjusted to include the £3000 divided by 36 and then multiply by the remaining months?
What are others opinions?

I don't think so. In theory if you pay zero deposit, you owe half the remaining monthly payments. As the deposit size increases, the monthlies reduce and thus the settlement figure reduces to reflect the deposit you've already paid.

Yes, mine was on a Friday afternoon and someone collected it on Monday afternoon. It's left looking like a seized vehicle with the Manheim stickers sealing the boot and doors with your key in a plastic bag!

Did you keep it insured?

It happened to be insured a few days past the point I had it collected anyway (and my next car is delayed due to paperwork so I've got a car on loan for them for free) so it wasn't an issue for me but I'm not sure what I would've done if it wasn't, as I was told I wasn't allowed to move it at all, so why would I want to insure a car that's no longer mine?

Yes!

Covid seems to be a recurring theme in some sectors to excuse poor customer service

My own V90 was inspected/collected on the same day around the first wave of C19
If Id been asked to take 2 days off work instead of 1 and also keep it insured after I was forbidden from using it Id have had a sense of humour failure. Especially if my next car was arriving the next day and I needed to transfer my NCB, not sure what provision they offered you for this?

Cheers

I’ve transferred the policy to our new Range Rover and Direct Line have covered the V90 to the 27/05/21 for £22 so two days after inspection. We have been told by Manheim after inspection that we cannot use it and it can be left on the street outside our home as it’s on their insurance. I am not comfortable having it on the road when there is adequate off road parking so it can stay on the drive till they collect it. I will also tell them to Foxtrot Oscar if they think they are leaving it on my drive or anywhere near my home with the keys inside it and the doors taped up.

Bit of a trek this week.
Notts to Shrewsbury to Bournemouth back to Notts. But this did mean that I got 540 miles out of a tank, best so far. (S90 T4
Starting to look for a replacement as this goes back in December, and it's a bit of an understatement to say there's not much about.

Who is it with? I've got the same car with Arval and due back at the end of March. They have a default setting in the policy which says I can extend it at a certain price, which is 10% more than current - so would be about £300 per month. I'd have to factor in getting the second service and depending on how long I do keep it for, tyres; though it's only done 7k miles so far, expect 14k by March.
