Does anyone else find that sometimes their car doesn't want to move from park straight away? I sometimes have to wait a few seconds before the gear shift would allow me to move down.
Anyone else?

Also, any one know why Volvo have put a button on the remote that sets off the alarm? I'm sure there are a few people who were unimpressed with me as it is very loud!

I think I can relate to both points, but have resolved them. Bear in mind I haven't rtfm on either wink

Handbrake. A fair few times I found that with auto handbrake on, I'd come to a stop and then the handbrake wouldn't release. I've found clicking off the front manual button just the once sorts it. Don't mess about with it, once it's sorted don't touch again!

Also relate to the panic alarm. Not read about it and found out about it by pressing the alarm button a few times in succession can't remember why.

Oh another point. Active cruise and happening upon stationary traffic.

In my VW say I was cruising at 40 on an urban DC with cruise engaged. Up ahead there's traffic stopped at red lights. The car would see them and slow to a stop as you would expect.

In both the Volco CC and my D4 this doesn't happen. Active cruise works fine, maintains distance etc at speeds of 30-80.

But in the above circumstance it doesn't apply any brake when you are approaching stationary traffic. I've left it as late as I dare but it's ploughing ahead regardless. I have had to stamp on the brake twice now after I noticed it first and subsequently tested it.

Anyone else? Am I missing a setting?

Mine definitely does brake (pretty sharply) when it encounters a stationary line of traffic.

Still enjoying the Polestar upgrade?

Mine definately brakes, I’m finding I prefer the adaptive cruise control to pilot assist.

The emergency braking kicked in yesterday when I was driving home. It kicked in just before I pressed the brake and scared the bejesus out of me.

All the reviews I read said that the auto box was sluggish when attempting an overtake. I haven’t found this to be the case in fact I am finding the ‘box very good. My previous car had the 8 speed ZF which was incredible, the Volvo unit is ‘almost’ as good.

Its one of my daily alerts and my head is still saying 'no,' but your vid is currently reappraising that smile
Currently at 350/month on a 6x23 or 36 for my usual 8k miles

I may be somewhat naive in holding out for a D5 AWD R Design that I saw at 300 on the above terms before I was in a position to proceed

Does anyone know of a link to easily see the difference between the 18 and 18.5MY changes for the V90 please?
Im aware most models now get front parking sensors and the online services - if its anything like my BMW Connected App its 15 mins of fun at best - but am not sure what else is being given away with the price hike

Cheers
Decided to order one. Having it delivered on Wednesday. I'll let you know what its like.
Went for the Pro in Saville Grey and the tinted glass.
There are a few more coming through. Some standard spec and others with just the front parking option if you are still interested.

Hmmm I may need to rtfm in that case.

Yes very much enjoying the whole car actually. Drives brilliantly, interior beautiful quality, stereo and gizmos all excellent, and I got 55mpg cruising @75mph on the way back from London the other day. Plus for such a large wagon it still warrants a look over the shoulder after I park it up.

What's not to like!

Same here. I've tried all the autoboxes and zf is my absolute favourite. Had it in 3 cars and it's the best gearbox around imo. This Volvo gearbox isn't too far behind though, and we'll ahead of the dsg box I had in my Alltrack. I'm more than happy with it and haven't encountered any frustrating moments so far.

Agreed. For an all round car, the CC has to be one of the best cars you can buy. Most of the benefits of the suv but drives more like a car. Jack of all trades, master of them all smile

I think I read the cc is only 1 inch shy of the xc90 ground clearance.

For fellow T4 drivers what MPG are you getting? I’m nearly a week in and the on board computer is saying 30 mpg for my commute which is mostly stop start traffic which isn’t bad and should improve. I would be made up with mid thirties.

Apparently it uses the XC90 suspension rather than a jacked up version of the V90.
I might have to go and find a rally stage spin

I’m having the same issue with the auto handbrake - do you mind explaining what you mean by clicking off the front manual button? Thanks!!

Similar to mine. Total average so far for 600 miles is around 28 mpg. On a longer trip with mainly motorway in it will do around 35mpg without me really trying to drive efficiently.

If yours is an early S90 D4 then get the software updated, mine was behaving oddly at times - same as yours and also braking when not necessary. The dealer said they did nothing . . . . but clearly they did as the cruise/braking system works differently and does stop me when I approach standing traffic.

This might not be the right place but as I also touch on PCH and this is a nice active thread I thought I would post here smile

We borrowed an V90 D4 R Design Pro with Xenium Pack in Osmium Grey for the afternoon today, thinking about a replacement for our 535i. Note the comparisons are made against the older F11 5 series, not the latest G31.

First thoughts were its a great looking car! Osmium Grey is really nice, not the Mrs' favourite, we would probably go for Bursting Blue if given a choice.

The 20" wheels look great but I would prefer slightly more tyre maybe. The ride was a bit harsher than our M Sport 5 series on 19" wheels, bordering on too hard for my liking, it does crash a bit over the larger pot holes. In hand with that though I think it definitely handles better than our 5 series, flatter and more confidence inspiring.

At cruising speeds it felt quieter and more or less as comfortable, although I didn't get time to get the seat quite right but it seemed like there was plenty of adjustment to get to where I would like it.

Power wise of course it was slower, not exactly a good comparison (190 vs 305 bhp!), but the torque from the diesel definitely gave it enough get up and go. Coming from quite powerful cars beforehand (330i, M5 and 535i) it felt adequate enough for our usage as the family barge. The 8 speed gearbox was great and on par with the ZF in our 5 series.

I'm not 100% sure on the infotainment system, I don't really like the look of the map display, and would prefer tactile buttons for the climate control, but its not a deal breaker. The Mrs preferred the touch screen over the I Drive system though. Also the gadgets are great, 360 park assist is a hit with the Mrs again, and I like the Pilot Assist for a more relaxed motorway slog. The sound system was also good, not the best but a lot better than the standard stuff in our 5 series.

Size wise it felt smaller when driving but plenty of space inside, more room for our car seat than the F11, and the boot is longer but the rear more raked so the angle of it does chop in to the usable space for larger items like a pram. The panoramic roof is really nice too, and the pull up blinds in the back are a welcome addition with a baby in the back, I could see them getting broken by an older child though!

Coming on to PCH deals, Stoneacre are getting back to me with exact prices on two specs, our 'ideal' V90 D4 R Design Pro + Xenium pack, and a 'compromise' V90 D4 Momentum + Seat Pack and Park Assist.

So far our baseline is Broadspeeds quote for £2500 down, 23 x £193 a month for a V90 D4 Momentum with no options and 8k pa, amortised £289.13 a month.

I'll report back on the quotes when they come back. The next stumbling block will get selling the 535i as the trade in prices are frankly tear inducing!

Mine is Inscription too. The leather is at least real leather,it's nice but not quite as thick as Volvo used to use. I agree that BMW "leather" is very cheap and nasty, if it is even real leather, it doesn't feel like the real thing. Merc pretend leather is plastic which I think is shocking, puts me off a Mercedes.
I was comparing it BMW's upgraded leather (I have an M3, which has far better leather than the standard 'Dakota' stuff BMW use on most models, but even that is not quite as nice to the touch as the Volvo nappa in the V90).

Might not have applied here, however I don't think the handbrake will auto release if a door isn't properly shut or seatbelt is undone in an occupied seat.

I have owned the V90 for just under a week now and I am still struggling with the seat, there is so much adjustment I can’t seem to find the perfect position yet. Try Neil at CliveBrook in Bradford quite a few of us on this thread ordered through him and he was a fair bit cheaper than Stoneacre for me.

I have a T4, I came from the N55 straight six and so far I’m not missing the power as the T4 engine has more than enough low down grunt.

With regards the Sensus touch screen I use the voice commands to change the temperature which works really well. The touch screen is excellent and the digital display shows the map inbetween the speedo and rev counter which is excellent. Overall it’s not quite up there with idrive but close enough not to worry about.
