Lots of really useful information
Thank you! Very much appreciated. TBH the servicing costs are the only thing preventing me signing up. Passat is on a variable schedule and required 2 services totalling £450 I am concerned that the Volvo might need 4 (?) over 50k, and possibly pads and discs. That could be north of £2k which would significantly change the value proposition!!

O/T - My Passat is the non adblue 150 bhp 2.0. Got a deal on a cancelled order literally just before the Sept 16 facelift. Took delivery on 31st August last day of the 16 plate.

Value is an interesting choice of word. Having owned both yes the Volvo will be more expensive but I think it represents far better value.

I have had these on a few cars and they are excellent. I did look on their website and V90 isn't listed yet, only S90? Got a link?
They won’t be listed just yet! Took my car in last week to get measured up with them, expect them to appear in the next couple of weeks, really good fit when they did mine. I got another set done when I was there so if anyone is interested pm me.

Hi,

I'm also in a Passat moving to a S90 R Design - I'd be interested in servicing costs - hadn't thought of that... I'd be heading to Halfords Autocentre if that is accepable with the leasing company. I do 20K a year so could become expensive.

I would be interested if lease company allow you to use a non franchise garage for the servicing as i expect to be doing 30,000 per year on my lease V90 ,

I have just had a set of car shades fitted V90 R Design, looks a lot better now as the windows aren’t tinted at the rear, I have a set that I’m selling if anyone is interested.https://www.carshades.co.uk
I'm going to get Car Shades for my S90 when it arrives. Had them before and they were the business - the only issue is the rear screen one which inexplicably comes in 2 halves so you get a black line down the middle. Also lost a couple of clips over the 3 years they were in but no big deal really.

Currently got Windesa shades in the Audi which I prefer - but they don't make for S/V90. Single unit for the rear screen and use 3M taped clips that haven't budged at all. Cost 50% more than the Car Shades though...

Looks like I'll be joining the S90 leasers club.

Was told on Wednesday the Leon Cupra 300 I ordered in January still hasn't got an allocated build week yet, so spent the evening trawling stock cars to replace my A4 which is due back in June. Saw a half-reasonable deal on a S90 Momentum so decided to do more searching on Thursday morning and came across this absolute steal from Nationwide:

Volvo S90 D4 R Design Geartronic incl. metallic and Winter Pack
8k miles, 9+23 @ £216 inc VAT + £198 fee.
Stock car to be registered by 30th May.

Found the deal around 9am, called the broker to get the ball rolling, test drove one at the local dealer at lunchtime and had the finance forms returned by 3pm. Had an email at 7:30am on Friday to say the finance was approved. Freaking love efficiency.

Can't wait to get in it now!
Got the same deal - Only the Bright Silver one left (would have preferred Onyx Black but hey ho not a problem). So there must have been a glut of these in the country (from China). My current vehicle is with Nationwide (Passat) - I will pay £20 more a month for this vehicle. Nationwide have been pretty good - you gotta be watching the site really closely... and phone up to make sure you get the special offers. Apparently they were awash with enquiries - and the latest ones on offer went quickly (there was a couple of Momentum Pros lon offer last week - I would have preferred that spec).... but looking forward to the R Design (anyone tell me if the seats are alcantra/leather ??)
I got the black one! boxedin

Other than the bursting blue I was torn between Osmium grey and black. I like the white (managed a test drive in one before ordering) but have a white car just now so wanted a change. When they said they had black or silver I jumped on the black - but the silver does look really good as well.

The seats are basically 'standard' leather with nubuck down the middle. It feels like velvet/alcantara but it is a type of leather.

I thought you might have beaten me to it wink

Have you got a delivery date yet? - I signed the contract and sent in on Friday - no news on dates yet though

No dates yet. Got the finance stuff through on Friday but only sent it back yesterday.

I can't remember where, but I'm sure I read somewhere that they were "expected to arrive at dealer 7/5/18". Then there'll be PDCs, registration, etc. to be done so I imagine it'll be next week before we hear anything about delivery.

Yes - I am also assuming they are the 2018 model not 2019 - so no front parking sensors (as per previous posts on this thread)?

According to this - https://www.volvocars.com/uk/own/maintenance/servi... the V90 needs a service every 18k with the cost alternating between £240 & £400 plus bits and bobs. Is that correct?

It's 12 months or 18k. So.... if I don't hit 18k in year one I'll service it a month late and only have to do one service wink

Sooooo... went and had a good old poke about in the local Volvo dealer today. Have to say the V90 was fab in both Inscription and R Design trims.

One thing that concerned me was a S90 with a really poorly aligned bonnet. I couldn't believe they would have this out on the showroom floor it looked like badly repaired accident damage but had actually come from the factory 'pre-broken'. The Volvo 'Product Genius' (I'm wanting a car not a bloody iPhone) even tried to push it shut when I pointed it out but it was latched down firmly. Perhaps the quality questions around the S90 being made in China are not unfounded? Quote of the day was ' Yes sir, they are made in China, but they are checked by the Swedish'.

Yeah, right - of course they are.

Really liked the look of the R but felt that the metal mesh interior inlays let it down. Something about the way it looked on the roller shutter central console just didn't work for me. I worry that it would drive me crackers after a few months. Although this was on an S90 rather than a V90 so may be Chinese quality control striking again.

But the V90.... oh my gosh! Its a great bit of kit. Big, loaded and good looking. I just need to work out whether I like Osmium Grey or Onyx Black. First world problems etc etc. Either way I'm having one can't see anything else in the price range that comes close.

Yep, Andy at Stoneacre actually advised me to do this! He also said don't pay £240 for the service, you should be looking around £185 from the main dealer. Basically if they want £240, just haggle.

Noticed that about my S90 bonnet too. I had a look and turned out to be a rubber strip on one side that was a bit loose, easy fix and all good now.

I have to say I can't fault my S90 Inscription. All the toys, full of tech, comfy and competitively priced.

Still awaiting delivery date of the S90 - so, whilst waiting, I'm busy researching and watching all of the associated YouTube reviews wink

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Volvo Connect App with a leased vehicle (sounds an excellent product), from what I can gather on the documentation you will need to download the app / sit in the car and know the VIN number to activate the system (as well as create a Volvo ID online).

There is no mention of having to be the registered owner of the vehicle - but I can see a problem when you hand the car back and still have access to find the car / unlock the car etc..

Any thoughts??
