I left a message with Neva but they didn’t get back to me. It’ll prob be Monday before they do. I didn’t even have chance to reject it. The delivery guy scarpered....
Otherwise pleased with it. Pilot assist will take a bit of time to gain confidence with. Trusted the Golf for active cruise, but now having steering aswell... well that’s gonna take a bit more time
In the short non motorway stints I've played with it, it is unnerving and not sure if use it over adaptive cruise as you can't take your hands off anyway. Plus it obviously doesn't take into account things in the road or potholes etc. Otherwise pleased with it. Pilot assist will take a bit of time to gain confidence with. I got myself confused. It’s the lane assist that’s been freaking me out. If you use the indicators it does nothing, but moving lane on the motorway it tugs the wheel slightly and gives it a little rumble.
And when your cleaning them don’t press too hard on the roof. It’s very flexible. Too much pressure and I could imagine it popping inwards. Maybe it’s a non structural area where the sunroof might go if it’s fitted.

Well first decent run out today and on motorway as well. I have to say I'm not sure I see the point ofpilot assist really. You have to keep your hands on the wheel anyway and doesn't give much over adaptive cruise which is very good. My only bug bare is that it only does speed in 5 mph increments so does lurch forward a bit when you change the upper speed.
Sat nav is a bit pants if I'm honest as well as it doesn't recognise full post codes. Is clear enough though.
Over all still liking it, minor niggles are there but then I remember how much car im getting for the monthlies!

For cruise control speed increase hold it down instead of clicking for 1mph increments.Sat nav is a bit pants if I'm honest as well as it doesn't recognise full post codes. Is clear enough though.

Satnav does do full postcode. Set destination, address, city/postcode.

Has anyone bought the genuine rubber mats? £130 seems a bit much but just thinking ahead to winter. Are they worth it?
You can get a decent set of rubber matts for under 40 quid made to fit the v90. However looking at the volvo site they mention a tunnel mat as well which if it covers the transmission tunnel woukd be useful. They are 105 at present but still a lot of cash

I've pretty much completely cut all use of Pilot Assist and will never use it in stop start traffic again. To be honest, I'm bewildered by those who say it is amazing. It's a gimmick as far as I can see. It's not smooth in start stop traffic and you have to be holding the wheel. It doesn't recognise when there are junctions to your left that you should keep clear. When there are people in slow, urban traffic who wish to turn across your path, the automated system doesn't recognise that. If we all used it there would be gridlock.
Special mention also to the auto gearbox, which is not great compared to the Germans. Driving on rural A and B roads it's dimwitted and, on our D4 at least, it's downchanges under power are unpleasant. It also has the worst engine braking capability I've ever experienced; come off the throttle and its deceleration is supertanker like. It becomes frustrating having to leave such unusually large gaps on flowing roads to avoid using the brakes.
The steering is about as close to drive by wire as I've experienced.

Sounds like you are driving in eco mode. There is no engine braking because the gearbox disengages to nuetral to save fuel, plus in general, the drivetrain, brakes, steering all behave differently in that mode. Try customising it all in the settings to see if you find some settings you like, or even just try dynamic mode?Special mention also to the auto gearbox, which is not great compared to the Germans. I’ve been impressed with the auto box so far, perhaps due to having a petrol V90. My last 2 cars having been an Audi with the 7-sp S-Tronic (DSG) and a BMW with the 8-sp ZF. I never felt the BMW’s box felt quite like it was correctly tuned to the petrol engine; it felt better in the diesels I’d test driven. The Audi box was great on the move but from rest or to a stop it wasn’t as smooth as a torque converter.
The thing I miss in the Volvo is a quick way to stick it in sport mode, or paddles. But generally I’ve been quite happy to leave it to it’s own devices in Comfort; I did find it changes up at about 5,000rpm at full throttle so I’ll have to try the same in Dynamic to see if it does hang on until the red line.

I still prefer the bmw zf box but it had to be in sport to not hesitate. The box in the v90 is a bit slow but not too bad and I'm always in comfort or dynamic, it is a shame you can't turn off the mode select screen when you change modes as well. Minor gripe with dynamic is it raises the tick over rpm slightly(to help with faster get away I'd imagine) which in a petrol is fine but in a 4 pot derv just increases the sound. I know the v90 is not aimed as a 5 series rival in terms of sportiness it just would be nice to be able to tweek settings and I still can't find and coding option software like you can in bmw or VAG.
The D5 lump does go better than expected and assume it will get better with miles but can't help but look at tuning boxes from cpa..

I love it personally, and on my 20 mile commute, the car drives me to and from work for 18 of those 20 miles.I previously had adaptive cruise on another car so I was quite familiar with that aspect, and the steering is just an added bonus for me.
Those who 'love' it, I imagine they use it like I do. Eg, we know it doesn't cover all scenario's, like someone pulling into your lane with not much room. You soon learn which situations the car will struggle with and in these situations, I just press the off button for a few seconds and then switch it back on again. That then mitigates the 'downsides' to the system and for the simple task of pressing a button on and off, its not a big deal from my point of view.
Those who expect to turn it on and then expect the car to know each and every road scenario in existence will invariably end up disappointed with the system, its just not good enough a system to do that yet.
