Just got off the phone from the dealer... my car went into production 2 days ago. I have VIN and registration. He hopes it will be with by the end of the month. Fingers crossed!

Great news. That's really quick turn around to get it that quick from it starting to be built.
Yeah I thought so too, perhaps my dealer is being a little over optimistic! But then again I guess if it's being built in Belgium it isn't too far away.

Great to know people are starting to receive their cars smile ... my dealer said I'll have mine by the end of this week or the start of next.

Which tyres they are being delivered with?

Tyres are Michelin cinturato(? spelling?). Ride is firm but not harsh. Quiet road wise and not too loud engine wise, but then again I've not driven it with the widows down yet. To be fair it's difficult to be objective after 3 miles!

Edit to add........ pirelli Cinturato P7

Thanks for the info!

Think they are supposed to be quite decent tyres, but they are out and out summer tyres, so doubt they will be any good in the coming winter months.

Shame Volvo doesn't deliver them with an all season tyre like the Michelin CrossClimate or something!

Really hate the stop/start function in automatic cars and will turn this off in the V60 when I get it. It's fine in my manual V40 as essentially you choose when the engine turns off - i.e. in neutral and stopped and handbrake on. But in autos like the courtesy V40 we had it's a right pain, turning on and off constantly if in queuing traffic for example. Just a thought :-)
Can you permanently switch it off?

Hi all,

So I've had my V60 just over a week, and already put 1500 miles on it. Absolutely loving the car so far, it's a very comfortable place to be. The car doesn't encourage you to drive fast, but it's plenty powerful enough for regular driving. This is my first automatic car, but I've found the gearbox to be fine. It doesn't come close to the DSG box in terms of speed, but the Volvo 'box is definitely smooth, no jerkiness or stuttering.

The media/nav system is brilliant, took me an hour or so to be fully used to it. I especially like being able to send locations from my phone to the car using the 'On Call' app - especially useful as the application map is powered by Google, so you can simply search for a place, without needing to worry about postcodes, streets etc, then once you've found the place you just Send to Car, and the location will be ready for you in the nav system when you next get in the car. As standard the car has a speed limit camera, so this is displayed in the dash - a very handy feature. Speed cameras are also displayed on the dash. The stock speakers are fine, plenty of power and stayed refined at higher volumes.

The seats are brilliant, so comfortable. They are half electric, half manual, and have a fair few adjustments, including lumbar support.

Averaging 35mpg so far, which I'm quite impressed with.

Overall build quality is great, no squeaks or rattles at all.

Two things I don't like:
- Not being able to see which gear I'm in - I wish this was displayed at all times on the dash, I just want to know what the car is doing.
- Start/Stop - the car cuts in and out all the time, shame you can't modulate the function with the brake pedal.

One last issue I'm having is I can't connect the car to the internet, tried through my phone, connecting to house WiFi, through car modem but nothing is working... hopefully the dealer can sort that out.

Anyone had letters through to complete a service?

Mine's done 10,000 miles.

Not had a letter yet, but the car tells me at every start!

Anyone had any success finding/negotiating a better price for the service? My local dealer wants £310 for an oil change. I knew it was going to be this kind of money when I took out the lease, but now it's time to pay it, I'm baulking at such a ridiculous amount for so little. Franchised dealer servicing is stipulated in the contract (although the penalty for not using the dealer is something like £150 -potential to do it cheaper overall, but I'd rather not get into an argument later)
I managed to haggle down to, a still ridiculous, £290 with my local main dealer.

Anyone heard any more on the extension?

Also I had a little fender bender.. frown

Should I repair, or just take the bill from Santander? Had a quote of £180+VAT to repair to factory finish by a very reputable spray shop.
