V40 D4 2015 creaking clutch

So this has been happening for a while. I’ve taken the spring out, cleaned and greased, and oiled all the pivots on the pedal.

It creaks! Mostly coming up. I spoke to Volvo parts (£££) for a replacement and the chap on the desk advised this was a recall on early cars.

Does anyone know how easy a swop would be? Quickly spoke to an independent and they advised it’s a steering column out job!

I assumed it would bolt to the bulkhead, and you’d just unclip the M/c piston.
