Likewise - just noticed a Volvo section - can't quite believe it is on PistoHeads site, but hey, why not!
Just traded in my Lexus LS400 for a 2001 V70T5 estate with the tiptronic box. It was originally a Volvo UK 'management' car, so was delivered with all the option boxes ticked, including the excellent Sat-Nav and TV package and built-in phone (just insert a SIM card)- both of which work really well and are very impressive.
Not really fast enough when picking up from low(ish) revs, so looking to get it chipped soon, but apart from that it's a deceptively fast car once up to speed (ie: high speeds don't 'feel that fast').
Igg
PS. Same set of tyres (Pirelli 6000's) for the past 10,000 miles, so I'm obviously not trying hard enough!

Wahey! a Volvo section. Who would have thought it.
As the username implies, I drive an 850 T5-R and love it to bits. Makes my daily 100 mile round trip commute to work up and down the M3 a joy (if you can classify travelling the motorways a joy ).
It's in metallic olive green with manual transmission - which is quite rare in these cars from what my local volvo specialist mechanic tells me.

Just noticed this section so I guess I'll have to own up.
I'm on my 4th Volvo Estate 245, 740, 960, 850 I'm a cabinet maker & volvos seem to be obligatory for anyone connected with the antiques & furniture trades.
Had the 740 the longest, it did over 250k before my partner reversed into the side of it & wrote it off
The 960 was horrid, slippery leather seats so only had that a couple of months.
The 850 is ok but not nearly as big inside as the 740 & 960. Probably buy another old 740 & run it till it drops. I wrote off a Fiesta a few years back, drove into the back of it at about 10 mph The impact broke my numberplate!!

Guess I ought to say hello too!
On my fouth Volvo estate - a 1998 V70R fwd which I've owned since almost new.
Having kept it stock for 8 years, I've just decided that it's time to start playing with it a bit, so I've just put an ipdusa plain grille on which looks nice, added strut braces at the front, and I'm about to chip it with MTE to c.300bhp and 410lbft.
Not normally into customising, but hey, why not?
Also just changed insurers to the Volvo Owners Club guys, Knotts - saved £200 and they'll insure it chipped! Yes there is a VOC - and they have a performance car secretary!
Can't recommend VOC highly enough.
