Has anybody done it?

I'm interested to know what the end result is like...still nice and driveable or a torque steering beast?

My Wife's T4 is a phase 2 and is a well balanced car, much less torque steer than the early model we had....just fancy a bit more ooomph

Best of all, could anyone recommend where to get it done?

Thanks

Volvo tuning in Bromsgrove are the UK agent for RICA.

Give Adam or Hamish a call. They are very helpful.

As aeroresh said, probably the best people in the country to help out if you want a re-map.

Hi,

I own a phase 2 T4 which is pushing out over 310bhp and its extremely enjoyable to drive and needless to say does surprise quite a few people on the road! :-) I have tried various software options and must say that MTE tuning has turned out to be superior to all the rest. Kalmar Union (shown in the link on the top right) are the UK representative for MTE products. MTE are a Swedish based tuning company who work closely with Volvo themselves, on a number of official Volvo projects, both in Sweden and overseas (for both hardware and software) and in the UK, there are several MTE tuned T4s which are running a range of tuning options between 250 and 310+bhp.

There is quite a lot of discussion on tuned T4s on the Volvo Owners Club forums (www.volvoclub.org.uk) so it might be worth taking a look there too. Importantly, MTE offers flash ECU reprogramming for the S/V40 so that there are none of the risks involved in changing the EPROMS in the ECU during upgrades. There is a Volvo Owners Club performance section meet near Uxbridge on 29th Jan so if you're free to pop down, please do as it will give you an opportunity to talk to owners at first hand and also get a feel for the cars which are there on the day. It will also be an opportunity to discuss all the tuning options available in the UK as there are several.

Hi,

No problem and I'm glad you found the information useful. Below is a link to the venue details for the Owners Club meeting this Sunday (29th Jan). It usually kicks off at around noon and goes on till around 2-3pm. It will be great if you can make it because this weekend's meet appears like its going to have a very good turnout of well tuned cars.

Missed the meet at the weekend unfortunately due to hangover and previously arranged family get together (hence the preparatory hangover!)

When is the next one?

Hi Maycott,

I'll post up the details of the next meet, when they are available. In the meanwhile, feel free to have a look at www.volvoclub.org.uk and the details of such meets (and venue locations etc) can be found in the "Performance Section".
