Are Volvo dealers struggling?

I ask because my London dealer, who's initials are like the short form of Human Resources followed by the name of a famous footballer called Michael, are hounding me about wanting to service my car. I have had a letter advising that a service is due followed by 6 follow up calls saying do I want it done? They have even offered to pick the car up and deliver it back to me after servicing. Never had this before

Had exactly the same sort of approach from my local Skoda dealer here in Lincoln. Collect. service, wash, valet, return for the price of a service followed by a nice 'phone call to see if I was interested. I wasn't, but only 'cos I no longer have a Skoda. Suspect they're all having to try a bit harder.

I reckon our local Volvo dealer is struggling, could be wrong but I've gone in on days when they only have two cars booked in judging by the paperwork status.

They too have the system of ringing you up to book a service based on a prediction. Trouble is it never works for me, I can have a couple of months with starship mileages foloowed by a couple when I'm driving something off the general fleet for some obscure reason.

Mind you one can have the odd amusing moment because they, like most organisations including, sadly, my own, have left hand not conversing with right hand moments.

Got called up drumming up a service, which wasn't due for about a month. Said they would call back. In the meantime things changed, miles got covered and I got it serviced with them after a fortnight. They ring back, can we book your service now sir... Well actually I got it serviced yesterday... and who was that with? (all indignant).... Well you actually look up your computer.(click)
