Hi all,

Just a quick question, would be most grateful if anyone could help me out.

Me & a friend have just bought a 1987 Volvo 640 GL (manual) for various things that we need a large vehicle for this year (mainly because our football club's season is about to start & no one has a big enough car to take various bits of equipment).

The problem with the car is that it needs a new battery. Is there a specific model/type of battery we need to buy or can we just buy any one? (not mechanically minded as you can tell).

Thanks for any help in advance,

Matt.

hello

I believe just a standard car battery will work. but always good to get a decent battery. I use the Yellow Optima 6 packs in the T4 but on the T5 I have Freedom Delco

Hope that helps

So just any standard battery from halfords, the amount of valves or whatever don't matter?

Halfords will also be able to help you. Just ask them. A local Tyre and battery place may be better or a local garage. Most places are better than halfords

Thanks alot, just was getting a bit worried because nobody I know has a trailer to tow it home but as I can just buy a standard one that helps immensely as I can bring my mate's dad who will fit it for us as he services his own cars.

Thanks alot for your help.
