How do I find my ECU number?

I've got an 855 T5R auto and been asked for my ECU number before taking it into the garage.

Could anyone help me location this? Been told it's in a box behind the left headlight. Is it the 2 small boxes that seem to lift out in different stages, if so where are the numbers located on this.

You have to open that black box.....there may be a bolt holding a strap over it.

To remove that you need either mole grips or a hammer and punch to tap it arround.

An automatic car will have two ECU's, you need the engine one: the numbers are on the top.

I would be interested to know why a dealer would want the ECU number.

Oh yeah, it's for a remap to ensure they have the software ready for me.
