Hi All,

A friends Volvo 460 had the battery replaced a year ago. Then he got a battery replaced this weekend.

Q: Can a poor starter motor damage a battery ?

Cheers

More likely to be your alternator?

Was the battery correct for the application?

thanks for the quick reply.

Not sure about the alternator, but the gentleman in question knows a fair bit about cars but it's been a long while (he says).

As the battery was replaced a yr ago - he's just wondering
whether a poor/duff starter motor can affect a battery ?

he said he knows about the alternator & battery relationship.

thx again !

Unless there is a constant feed going to the starter i can't see it been possible, If he's got a multi-meter he should be able to check easy enough.

I'd start from the starter relay live, but someone a bit more technical minded should be able to help you more tomorrow.

Thanks.
