Hi guys...Wifey's little butt is getting cold here in upstate New York. The heated seats stopped working, both sides, in her 2001 S60. Fuses seem to be fine and no loose wires under the seats. The dash switches light up.
Any ideas ?? Help me be a hero before I have to take it to the dealer.
Thanks
Dave

Depends on how the seat is heated, could be a pad or a heating element.
If it's a pad i believe that it has to be replaced, that may be a dealer issue, if it's an element it's a case of taking the seat cover off and repairing it yourself if you can. Someone else may have another suggestion that may help but a touch of solder sorted the element on my last car when the heated seats stopped working.

My suggestion would be to deal with it ASAP. Not trying to shake you up or anything, but there have been some spectacular fires in Volvos in Sweden, which (apparently) have been caused by a fault with the heated seats.

Mostly in V70 models, but the seats are the same in S60, better be safe than have a fire licking your genitalia wink

Normally the thermostat goes in them - easy to replace - quite pricey to buy though - if you live in cold climate its worth it !

With regards the fire risk - A lot of 850's and V70's were recalled to have looms replaced as there was a fire risk - not heard of it affecting S60's but check out the VOC to see which (if any) recals were made on your car

No heat usually = elements, if fuse and wiring has been checked, get a used seat is my bet should be less than £60
