Hello guys and girls, ive had my 850 t5 for about 3 months now, it still goes like stink even though shes getting on a bit now. A warning light has come on the dashboard, its the triangle which is meant to mean theres a fault in the engine electronic system. Does anyone know if this is a common fault like the ABS light or whether there is a common fault with the 850 which would lead to this light coming on? If anyone knows anything I would be grateful for the help because i would rather not take it to a garage and do the work myself if i can.

Cheers

first question is, is the car obd i.e. computer socet under the coin slot in the center consol or is the the older type in which case there is a self diag system under the bonnet which works off a series of led's and will mean you wont need to take it into the garage to find the fault.
If it is the early type i have all the codes and a how to guide that i can paste up for anyone that needs it biggrin

It could mean anything(vacuumleak, faulty lambda-probe,etc,etc)If your car has the obd-2,it means

you should go to the dealer and read out the fault, you can't reset it yourself and then you know

what the exact problem is.

Has it had the ECU tinkered with? sometimes the Lambda circuit on the board fails on uprated ECU's - but like has been said - you'll need a fault code reader on an OBD II car - if yours was a late Mplate or newer it will have OBD II
