Nothing in 3 years/30k miles. It can happen though!

My 2004 XC90 only has FWD due to a fault where the propshaft connects to the gearbox, apparently this is a relatively common problem on 2003-2005 cars due to the material used for one of the parts, it was upgraded on later models though.

Angle gear went on my 2004 S60R at 41k miles - teeth on both input and out shafts, and splines on both input and output sleeves stripped completely. Probably made out of marshmallow I blame the traction control, it's so violently agricultural. Now switch off the DSTC every time I get into the car. Replacement gear seems to be made of something stronger.
