please help!! 850 randomly losing all power and cutting out!

hello i have a 1993 850 glt, manual petrol 2.0.. and sometimes in 5th gear the car suddenly loses all power and the rev counter stays where it is. then when i lift off it just drops off and all the warning lights come on and it cuts out. the lamda light is on and i think it might be something to do with the air/fuel mix. Then i have to wait about 30 seconds before it will start. The car drives perfectly otherwise.

has anyone experienced this before? any clues?.........

Might be too late with this but sounds very much like the problems I had on an 850 which turned out to be the fuel pump relay.
