Hi. Can you attach an MP3 player / IPoD to the standard stereo system in a 2006 V70 (old shape)?

Thanks

I have a 2005 S60 with a HU-850 headunit. That has an Ipod unit connected and it works fine. No text though.

I have an iMIV unit in mine. Discreet, easy to fit, plenty of cabling options depending on where you want to put the iPod.

It does scrolling text but it's not amazing, you need to wait for the song to actually be playing then press a button to get the text display and it'll disappear the moment you skip a track. Useful if you have passengers who're always going, "what's that song?" though.

The main useful feature over the cheaper options is it gives you support for loads of playlists accessible direct from the head unit, 99 or so. Oh and if you've got the satellite navigation screen (which I don't) you can play video on it with certain iPod models.

Probably a bit on the steep side with the current £/$ situation, though. (I got mine ages ago before that was such a problem.)

I've got a V70 on a 57 plate, and it's the run out model. Anyway, there is a socket/input for my ipod in the centre armrest. Not usb, so no charging or display on the stereo, but it work fine for me.

USA Spec PA11 is a slightly cheaper option than the IMIV - just over $100 is cheapest I have seen it, plus shipping and customs theft. I have one in each Volvo (two of them) and they are great. I use them with iphone and ipod touch mounted above the stereo so I control album selection from the ipod, steering wheel controls work fine for track seleciton and volume and all ipods and iphones charged.
