Probably one that Don can answer....

My shed's exhaust manifold has a crack.

So it needs replacement.

The question is: what's available on the aftermarket in the way of tubular manifolds, uprated turbo, etc..
Not looking to spend stellar money, just a little to get a bit of extra.

I've had a surf on the internurd, but found very little. Seen plenty of pics, read plenty of forums that mention things, but no pointers to anyone that makes the stuff.

Firstly, nearly all the active UK modifiers of later model Volvos congregate at www.t5d5.org

An experienced, forthright, opinionated but very helpfull and supportive mob!

Depending on which car you in fact have the preferred manifold is the later one from the now discontinued S60R/V70R cars which curiously is also still on some current XC90s and cheaper, but identical for the 4 x 4 new from a dealer. There are no tubular manifolds available anywhere, but some have been made to mount huge Garretts where there is more room. ATP in the US do have a cheap cast manifold for big turbos but to my knowledge they have no UK customers.

Again, with turbos you need to look at a larger one off a more powerfull model unless, as some have done, you go for a Garrett on a standard manifold. You will need to match such a turbo with good bespoke software such as the MTE stuff that I sell here, stronger rods are a must with much higher outputs. Generally dealers' prices for new turbos are hard to match.

If you have got a few hours this coming friday we have the first, Volvo UK supported, track day at Castle Coombe followed by our annual day at the peerless MRG Volvo dealership in nearby Chippenham on saturday. If you could make either you will be amongst this friendly, knowledgeable mob.....

regards, Don.
