Do we have a confirmed price on this yet? I have seen numbers starting at £400 and heading north but nothing from anyone I would actually send money to.
Someone is listing it on eBay as an "exclusive pre-release" item .... £599.99

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exclusive-Pre-Release-L...

Can't believe 27 people are "watching" it.

Now that looks good. Does the spoiler move up and down depending what gear you are in? Could there be a brake pedal that activates the air brake? How do the gears work? So many questions. Roll on 1st June.
I can't see the spoiler in the front shots....

That auction is just giving you the chance to pay over the odds for it laugh
If you won it you would pay £599 and they’d send you one when it’s released, they haven’t actually got one now.

I am 1 of the 27 but no intention to buy from thee or at that price. My gut feel is £350-400 based on part count and the GT3 list price.

It's been pulled. I'm guessing it was the official lego kit?

I think they'll struggle at over £300.

I'm a committed Technic buyer/builder with too much disposable income, but more than £300? fk that.

Yep, I thought the Porsche was expensive. Lego are taking the p*** with prices recently.

Especially when you consider that by Christmas it'll have a third off at major retailers.

They've lucked into the perception that "big Lego kits are an investment", when the reality is "big Lego kits from the days prior to them having that perception are an investment".

As such, the buy in price is perceived to be irrelevant as the future value will outstrip it. That's enough currently to gain volume pre-orders/release sales, then flog the remaining stocks at discount prices.

They're flogging the horse while they can. Their arrogance in how they're doing it may well be their undoing.

Even if it was £200 it is a hell of a lot of cash for what is ultimately just a toy

Has anyone seen confirmation whether this is actually being released or available on Friday in Lego stores only?

I believe it's a Lego exclusive until August (I read that somewhere online)

No. The box showers were similar but there was some pictures of partial assemblies and some of the “technical” bits.

Yes, I am old school and had Technical sets from launch.

Gearbox paddles are in strange place, and the “top speed key” looks like they couldn’t mechanise the spoiler on the car, otherwise looks good.

I'm quite impressed by that. Certainly looks a better job than the Porsche did.

Shame about the price tag though £200 and I'd consider it.

I can't see any evidence of the wheels falling off that particular train though. The modular buildings still steadily increase in value as they're retired, ditto for big Star Wars kits. If, for example, you bought the new rollercoaster and stuck it up in the loft for 5 years it's really hard to imagine that doing anything but increasing in value.

The base line cost of bricks will only ever increase, so just the basic fact of having several thousand pieces (many of which are likely to be fairly rare) will mean sets with big piece counts will maintain a certain value. It's kinda crash proof in that respect. Maybe the days of retired kits hitting 4 figures are over, but few are unlikely to dip below their initial cost.

Even the first wave of Jurassic World kits have at least doubled in value in a couple of years. My son wanted some of those 'old kits but they're prohibitively expensive now.
