I'm struggling with the Bugatti, I've never been a huge fan of the real thing looks wise, so the Lego one doesn't make me want it.
On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed building the Porsche, and I'm guessing its going to be a better build than that was.
Decisions.....

I’m going to wait until a retailer discounts it.

£329.99 is a joke. Apparently a Lego exclusive until August (or October depending where you read).

It'll be £250 by Christmas I reckon at the likes of Tesco / Amazon / etc

The launch of this one has me debating picking up the porsche after all...

Im not a fan of bugatti either, dont think they look very good TBH, so a lego model of the same doesnt really impress me. Feature wise it seems about as baren as the porsche, with similar realism problems (i understand that lego doesnt want to make new engine bits, but come on, a I4+V8+I4 sandwich?), but most of the porsche's issues have been fixed by the community by now, and i actually somewhat like the colour/shape of it.

At this pricing, Lego are giving the Chinese copy manufacturers a huge boost!

It does look very impressive, and very complicated

Just found someone building it live!

It does look much better in the official pics/vids. Lets see if I can persuade Father Christmas to send me one!

From the A-pillar backwards, I'd say that they've done a pretty reasonable job. The grill, lights and front splitter also look like a decent approximation to the real thing, given the limitations of the available parts. The bonnet looks to be a real dog's dinner though, at least from that angle. Far too many gaps, and it looks as though the front wings are sitting much higher than the centre panel, which doesn't seem to be the case in the actual car. Hopefully it'll look better in the official photos, and from other angles! To be honest I'll probably end up ordering one anyway though... rolleyes
As I expected, I just couldn't resist the temptation - placed my order at 9.30 this morning... justified it to myself on the basis that i could use my VIP points from the UCS falcon to knock off 30 quid and get the purchase price down below the magic £300 barrier biggrin

It does look good - better than the 911 anyway.

However. £330.00......

No.

It doesn't look like the instruction books are downloadable yet. Shame, they can be nerdily interesting!

Just bought the Technic Rally Car as a substitute for the Chiron.

The more I think about the Chiron the more I cannot justify it.

Now that the 911 GT3 has dropped in price I hint that will be next.

Someone managed to build a pretty great looking Lancia Stratos using only parts from the GT3. Doesn’t appear to be any instructions available sadly.

Or November maybe! It will go £299 pretty quickly and sit there for a couple weeks, until one of the big retailers get cold feet and drop the price to £250/275. (Sets like this sell really late, Im talking 15th Dec onwards when the dads start Xmas shopping. But one of the large retailers will panic late november and slash the price to £250 - it will then never fully recover and probs sit at £275ish.)

The same happens with every set. The 42056 Porsche sat at £230 for a long time until I think it was Smyths smacked it down to £199, a couple places followed suit and it was £185 everywhere within a couple weeks. At this price we made a loss and decided to stop selling the line, luckily we had sold >1000pcs at the earlier higher prices and had very little stock when the prices dropped!

Ive not yet played with the Chiron, but am struggling to see a £80 increase in RRP! Its also very sad that LEGO are keeping it exclusive for 5months!

The GT3 got loads of press, so I imagine they felt bouyed by its success...

I had a chance to get a good look at the Chiron yesterday at the Lego Store in Leicester Square and it's absolutely huge... Obvious I know, but bloody hell it's big.

Bigger than the Porsche? That was pretty impressive size wise

Edit: just seen a couple
If pics, the Porsche is very slightly longer, but they’re pretty much the same
