Does anyone know if it's possible to get the orange pieces of the 911 kit in green to make it the lime green colour?

Have to agree with this, the Corvette looks shocking. Quite like the Hot Rod though.

I built the Chiron over the xmas break, it was an enjoyable build particularly the engine but it didn't offer much of a different experience to the GT3. I sort of knew that before I bought it but I'll have to put a lot of thought into whether I buy the next one they do.

I’ve just done the Rally Car. Quite an enjoyable build with a few different things. They do all get a bit samey after a while though.

I’m about 70% through the Chiron now and it’s about 7hrs in. I understand the above but also feel the Chiron is a far superior and more technically difficult build (read:fiddly) compared to the GT3 which I built from scratch in under 5hrs.

Think I’ll give it a while before building the RSR!

I bought the Rally Car for my 9 year old son. He needed a bit of help with the crank and pistons but he’s doing pretty well. We’ve only managed a couple of hour long sessions since Christmas Day but we’re about half way there now. I agree that it’s an enjoyable kit.

Doing the RSR at the moment.

It’s a decent build but nothing technically challenging and there isn’t much in terms of ‘Ooo, that’s interesting how they did that’.

Only a inch or two shorter than the RS so makes a nice accompanying piece but the amount of stickers are a pain in the arse. Two sheets! And I frickin’ hate putting stickers on (can never get them perfectly straight frown ).

Nice one; I’m debating on wall mounting my technics car collection so will allocate a space to the RSR next to the GT3 (and poss a space for the Lepin green GT3)

Agree on the stickers, they’re just a nuisance!

Well the Chiron is finished. Turns out the last 30% of the build only took a about 90mins so all in it was about 8:30hrs - pretty pleased with it and really like the key for the rear spoiler deployment!

I know we’ve all seen it before but it’s always a good excuse for pics!

And while I’m at it, here’s the belated pics of the Vestas wind turbine:

Half way through building the Rough Terrain Crane with the kids. It looks great, is very nicely engineered, and a really fun build.

The issue I have is that we’re often just building meaningless assemblies in stages, which eventually suddenly ‘work’ as a whole. What I’d find really useful would be a schematic of each gear train or mechanism, so that I know which bit I’m building, and how it fits within the system.

The various gearboxes and drives are so tightly packaged and often invisible once completed, that there’s little or no appreciation of how or why what you’re building actually works.

This also applies to the 8043 Excavator (another brilliant bit of engineering) and to a lesser degree, the Unimog.

I got hold of the 2019 2H order form today. Quite happy with the Technic sets - more so than the last couple years.

All the trade events kick off next week so you might see some leaks.

Stop it. I don't need anymore. I've not finished the Chiron yet!

Seems like it could be £400 - £500 assuming it gets to production.
