I'm going through the interesting mission of trying to get those yellow bits on the front wings in orange, lego don't do them and I can't arrive at a good solution to substitute them.

Err,

Nice idea, but see the lepin thread for details...

It's a part Lego do not do in Orange. It's a thin lift arm triangle.
Looking at the instructions, I don't see why you couldn't build it with the part I listed.

That part of the front attaches to the inner frame with the bit that sticks out on the triangle.

I have had the front apart and it's not possible to do the modification I have done to the front lights area if I have to attach a 90 degree arm (which is available in orange with lego) to the inner frame.

I am trying to get a set of 4 of the correct colour from a non lego source.

Headlight flap open

You can see the problem, I have tried quite a few different things but they are not suitable. Either the front is floppy or the headlight won't fit in.

All this talk of Technic motorbikes made me get an old set out the garage I've had since a kid.

A couple of nights sorting through various boxes to find parts and a small order from Bricklink and it's now complete again:

Things have changed over the years with Technic kit, not a curve in sight on this one!

I wonder if Lego will bring out a sidecar add on for the Panigale... rofl

Proper Technical Set.

Seems like the resolution of Lego models has mirrored that of computer games through the years - to an extent!

Really fancy an RSR do people think it'll ever go on offer for £65 like it did at Argos last yr?

I had that and it was the worst Technical set they did. Build it nice and never touched it again. The other of that era were much better.

Dom’s Charger done.

Not a fantastic build to be honest. Shame that the headlight covers aren’t there.

Did the quick suspension adjustment to sort out the ride height, definitely worth doing.

I agree to a point, while I found it not as good as the mustang it's a different build because it is Technic.

I enjoyed turning it into a Dukes charger more than the initial build, hunting part numbers and putting details of my own in took way longer and was more fun.

I bought 2 and was going to build one of each but seem to have only built one and made it orange.

I built it a couple of weeks ago and agree it wasn’t great.

Proportions are off, and the build itself wasn’t much fun. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to build the roll cage after the roof was on.

Would have been better as a Creator model I think.

TBH I thought it was a second model from one of the car sets.

I may have made a slightly rash impulse purchase the other day (ordered at 12.08am on the day of release, during the middle of a night feed for our 3-month old son) - I blame the sleep deprivation...:

Now I just need to figure out how to find time to build it rolleyes

18 and two thirds of a brick per day will see you complete it on Christmas Eve.

Sounds doable...

(I did the maths...)

Lockdown has seen a massive tidy out of the attic and all the other locations I have stashed my Lego. It has all been stacked in the same place now and even I feel a little embarrassed. I may need to put off buyer the Sion.

I got this far with 42054

Annoyingly the amount of missing pieces from a ‘brand new’ kit means I can’t finish it off.

The perils of buying from the bay of fleas...

Hopefully Lego will be good enough to send me the missing pieces.

You seem to have a lot of bad luck with missing pieces.

I've built 3x Creators, 4x Technics, the Star Wars Millennium Falcon and 8x Speed Champions all in the last 2-3 months and not a single missing piece so far. I have 3 more Creators sets, the Saturn V and ISS to build so fingers crossed they're all complete too.

I think these are second-hand from eBay, or at least not exactly unopened new boxes. Which means asking Lego for new parts seems a little presumtuous. I could be wrong though smile

I think I've had three genuinely missing parts (vs finding a "missing part" hiding in a bag) in dozens of sets, large and small.

On a related topic, a friend of mine had a missing inner bag which formed part of one of the "bags" for the millennium falcon and they couldn't just send the one mini bag (it was one of the bags in a bag with small parts) and had to send the whole main section (i.e. all of bag 14 which is actually a number of smaller bags!)
