Just building the Ducati - nice build, I like the gear change mechanism.

One small point - the forks seem to bend as much as compress. Have I missed something or are they all like this?

Thanks.

Bought Doms Dodge Charger this morning - even though I hate the Fast & Furious films - so will be interesting to see how the kit goes together.

The forks on mine are ok - only issue I have is the links on the chain. I found that if you build it with the suggested number the chain snaps when you move the bike. Add one more & it’s perfect.

Whilst i am knee deep in swarf building my live steam loco, milling, turning boring sawing filing sometimes 6/12 of the same part',panel beating' and silver soldering with another estimated 12-18 months and 6-hrs most days in the workshop before it actually steams

Yet as much as i appreciated Lego, my patience runs out after about 2 hours As it does with jigsaws, and this coming from someone who will quite happiliy sit by a lake for 15 hours fishing

My lad is a Lego collector and built the Mercedes tipper in about 4hrs. He is getting up quite a collection, Taj Mahal, Tower Bridge, some weird Chinese buildings, Routemaster bus etc

For Fathers day he got the Veron and has just started it. Fox minor is also getting involved and showing a good fist of it working out the gearing. The front and rear halves of the Chassis were connected today.and looks VERY impressive

For anyone out there who is on the fence about getting one.... jump and do so it is a cracker. , but i still couldn't do it!!

Odd; as I've mentioned before I put in one less than instructed as it looks better and works fine. I guess YMMV.

On ours if you use 35 links it sags a lot, and if you remove one, it very, very slightly bends the rear axle/swingarm. Both work fine though.

ETA the stand is very unstabel too.

If you look at the official Lego photo the chain does sag so I’m leaving the extra one in -saves having to reconnect the links every time I move it.

The stand isn’t the best but as mine is resting against my R2D2 I’m not that concerned.

On a different note I do not like the Fast & Furious Charger at all. Finished the front & it is so dull (black everywhere) & I haven’t installed the doors yet.

I think it will be the first Lego kit I have ever sold.

Thank god I have the 911 RSR too look forward to.

Charger done. It’s big & it’s black (assuming I can use that word without offending someone).

I think it’s a bit naff.

Agree, it feels like a big chunk of the price has gone on the licence to use Fast & Furious brand. Would have been better as the General Lee.

It’s almost as dull as my R2D2. That was another disappointing & uninspiring purchase.

911 RSR next. And on that subject I want to decal the 911 either in the 2018 Le Mans Rothmans or Pink Pig livery.

Does anyone know the approximate scale of the Lego 911 RSR & does anyone have any idea from where I can get a set of either Rothmans or Pink Pig decals.

Hate to put a spanner in the works but several of the RSR pieces come pre-printed (as well as having to do some stickering yourself) so that might cause you a bit of an issue unless you can source the parts blank? From memory it's both front and rear wheel arches at least.

I haven’t opened the box yet - didn’t know that there were pre-printed pieces. That’s annoying on a Technic kit however I can buy the parts from Bricklink.

I have found someone who sells the decals however I need to know what scale, roughly the Technic RSR is & I haven’t got a clue how too work it out.

If you already have there in the box, why not just open it up and check yourself? That way there's no room for ambiguity by relying on others' info.

Any external body panels you'd want to sticker could easily be done once built I'd imagine. I'm assuming you'd use all the ones supplied for things like the dash etc.

Haven’t got round too opening the box yet - currently hiding away the Technic kits that SWMBO doesn’t know about!!!

It’s just the body-shell I want to change - the Technic RSR is a tad boring so want to build mine in either Rothmans or Pink Pig livery.

I can do that once i have an approximate scale. It’s either 1/12 or 1/8 but I don’t know which. Asked
Lego on their live chat earlier. They didn’t have a clue.

Luke.

Think it might be 1/8 but not 100%

There's a 1/8 Lego Technic Facebook group. Have a gander one there.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/786251011773990

Edited to add, just found this post on the FB group:

Fam Quintyn-Braekman

911 rsr is a 1/12 set, there are 3 official 1/8 sets like the gt3, bugatti and now Lambo, and you have a few 1/8 f1 cars and some chassiscars from the 80 ies and 90 ies..

So, it's 1/12... HTHs...

I thought so.

Just waiting for the stickers to arrive now.

All orange parts are from bricklink, I have managed to get the yellow parts changed now too so it's body is all orange.

Looks great on display, you can't accuse it of being dull.
