If it's not a fake statement, what a bunch of muppets.

How long has it been in development?

Why did they release a Sopwith Camel a few years ago?

Might be true. I was browsing the Lego holding page at the shop for it this morning (and was about to post it on here) but the page is now missing.

To add looks like there’s been protests in Germany about it https://www.promobricks.de/lego-42113-technic-ospr...

Ha ha typical. I've been to that Lego store in Hamburg. A few years back for their harbour 'birthday' celebrations, the Patrouille Suisse did an awesome display with their F5's. That evening the local papers were full of people asking why military aircraft had been allowed to over-fly their city. Subsequent days displays were cancelled.

And the Caterham has pistols & a machine gun amongst its parts so it’s all nonsense.

Hope they don’t pull the Osprey as been looking forward to building it.

I was watching the video of motorised functions this morning and was looking forward to it. Let’s hope the minority don't ruin it for the many.

wow. Some people really do need to experience more adversity in their formative years.

I guess the death star arguements done the rounds?

Anyone got any illicit V22 sets that were due to hit the shelves?

Sadly the minority will ruin it, it seems to be the way the world works now.

Lego Group have confirmed that the Osprey will not be released.

I am both saddened & irritated that a small minority have ruined a perfectly good model. So why did Lego release the Sopwith Camel & why are they still selling kits with pistols & machine guns - as with the Caterham?

Another nail in the coffin of freedom.

Gutted.

Now if only Russy manages too lose a pallet of V22’s.......

Also very sad to see this - a set I was looking forward to building.

It seems that being outraged is a hobby for some. They could have raised their objections (or “concerns”) much earlier, but they didn’t. They waited till the last minute so it actually had an impact upon Lego and gave them some faux self worth. Pathetic really.

Off work this week, so currently building the Defender whilst sampling a few glasses of wine, occasionally looking at the Calder valley in a rental cottage. Very civilised.

Quite a tricky little set if you’ve got big paws!

Looks like some review copies on YouTube vids... Will be worth a few quid... This is also one time where I would have no problem with the Chinese knock off !

Getting the four wheel drive system too work is a bh.

On mine all wheels rotate individually but all together? Nope. Followed the instructions too the letter - doesn’t work. Followed the procedures detailed on this thread - still doesn’t work.

So I feel a strip down & complete rebuild coming on.

As for the Osprey. I hope the moaners are happy & will sleep well tonight knowing that they have cost Lego a huge amount of money & that they have annoyed Lego modellers the world over hugely.

Self centred, self entitled tts!!!

Yes I read that story. I gather that Lego have offered to replace all of the stolen kits so that’s some good news.

100% right. As I get older I seem to be more and more disconnected from the world and what it is becoming. Who would of thought this could happen over some bits of a plastic toy. The world seems to get a sadder, blander place year by year.

As a side note I wonder what will happen with all the sets as there must be thousands packaged up ready to hit the shelves???

They said they will look into which pieces they can repurpose. With the amount of manual work that would take I imagine it would be cheapest for them to just dispose of them, but that's kinda frowned upon, environmentally speaking.

Either way with an August 1st release date there must be thousands ready to go, quite a few already out there with reviewers etc.

It'll be one of those sets where if you have a boxed one that will be worth a fortune in a few years time.

I don't understand... They've created an osprey before? Set 8434 is granted far less detailed, but clearly an osprey
