I wonder when Lego will realise that the hovercraft has military connections!!!!
If hovercraft were only used by the military you might have a point.

Real life rescue hovercraft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-class_lifeboat

Real life rescue Osprey tumbleweed

That is assuming that the Osprey was withdrawn because of military connections, and not say a poorly designed gearbox caught at the last minute.

According to Bricklink the US Marine Corps use the hovercraft hence my comment.

As for the Osprey - I think we all know the real reason the kit was withdrawn....

Get an order in for the hovercraft then and get it on ebay for thousands!

The Forth Bridge has been designed in lego. It needs a few hundred votes to be considered for lego to sell it. It will be a beast of a model if it goes ahead.
Heres a link to vote for it

I think that will take up more space than is practical for most people, also probably a bit of a repetitive build wink

It would most likely be in the Architecture brand rather than technic brand and quite a few of those have repeating patterns.

Picked up the corvette as a first technic set last week. Enjoyed this much more than standard lego so took the plunge and bought the defender which arrives tomorrow. It was a toss up between this and the 911 rsr but the part count on the defender won out. Hopefully I made the right choice.

Very nice, I keep thinking about grabbing the Corvette.

My Defender still hasn't shipped from IWOOT after it was on sale on 28/01. It's now showing an estimated ship date of 08/02 on my order.

The corvette is a nice kit for £30 pllus there's a good number of optional builds for it.

I ordered mine on the 29th. Still showing as "processing".
I don't think I'll be ordering anything else from IWOOT. I guess they are a dropshipper, and don't actually hold stock.

That makes sense. Saved £30 which is handy, but in future I probably won't bother unless it's a big saving.

After a few drinks over the weekend I took the plunge and ordered myself the 42100 Liebherr R 9800 Excavator V29, when it turns up other than reading the instructions and taking my time are there any things I need to watch out for?

I didn't have any problems with the build. The only slightly fiddly part was attaching all the plastic tubes that simulate the hydraulic lines.

Likewise, no problems / mistakes during my build of this set. A few fiddly bits as with all Technic sets, but that depends if you have sausage fingers like me or not!

There's 2 sheets of stickers with most of them quite large. Take some time to get them straight as there's a corner of hell reserved just for those that put stickers onto Lego all squiffy!

It's a beast of a set and the functions work really well. Oh yeah, pins, pins and more pins. About 1,500 of the little buggers!

Just had an update email from IWOOT. Apparently my order will be shipped week commencing 1st March!

Pretty poor show.

Just had the same, cancelled my order and ordered direct from Lego. Won't be trying IWOOT again for Lego!
