I'm building the Volvo articulated hauler. Does this step mean "make sure you've got the red gears in the differentials on the correct sides", or is there anything else that needs to be aligned too? I know there was a bit in the Land Rover that was easy to miss and caught a lot of people out.

Yep, make sure they go where the picture shows rather than as a matching pair. I pay attention to these type bits after having to rebuild half my mobile crane a few years after putting the outrigger bevel gears in the wrong places.

Clearing out my sons cupboard this morning and I find this unopened set.

It says it’s lego 8109.

Where would the best place be to sell this ? Is there a Lego site I could use ?

Many thanks

They fetch silly money, was after one for a while but not prepared to pay £300+, Ebay it and it will sell very quickly!!!
I sold that one too in 2019, I think, and made quite a bit on it, even though it had been built and had the decals on the panels. It was fully dismantled, the bits all checked off against the inventory, and then bagged up according to their type.
My wife loves doing st like that! laugh

Currently disassembling the Defender (clearing some space for errrrrrr......something else).

It's as fascinating to take it apart as it was to build, I still rate this one of the best 'car' Technic builds I've done.

It's quite an astonishing thing the way it all goes together!

What an uninspiring build this is.

Considering it's in the sort of same price bracket as the Defender, which is FAB, this is dull as f***

You obviously haven’t built the Ferrari 488.

That really is dull & the finished item is horrible. I thought that the 911 was a decent build.

To be fair it did get better.

The chassis is SO SO dull though.

No, I haven't done the 488. No intention of doing so either. Haven't heard a good review of it!

I've had a CamelCamelCamel price check running for this for years as I badly wanted one but didn't want to pay the ebay rate. Anyway, last week (3 years after I sold all of my Technic) I get an email notification through that it's available on Amazon for £71.99! I very nearly bought it but I just don't have the time / space for it now. Someone definitely got a bargain!

Just checked again today and cheapest one available on there is back over £400! yikes

Edited to add picture!

I do love Facebook market place. Collected a 911rsr last night, boxed, instructions, complete.... £50!
Unfortunately FB Marketplace is inhabited by a lot of monumentally stupid people, they're probably out queuing for petrol right now, for example yesterday.... I have numerous new and used sets up for sale including a brand new Sian still in sealed shipping box. Advertised at same price as Amazon for local collection only...

FB Idiot: Is this still available

Me: Which one

FB Idiot: Sian

Me: Yes.

FB Idiot: Will you take £100 for it. Can collect immediately.

Me: Get f***ed.

FB Idiot: You're (sic) loss.

Oooooooookay.

Given that there's a lot of us here that are enthusiasts, is it worth advertising it here on PH too?

No, you can advertise non-motoring stuff in the classifieds.

If another PHer were to spot it and link it here that would be entirely within the rules.

£100 for a Lego Sian - he’s some player. A fool arrogant but wow.

Christ just buy a new one for £200-230 enjoy it. Buy a Bugatti Chiron for similar.

They hold more or less full money used as availability is tiny.

We don’t sell ours - I’ve some childhood ones 30-40 years old, all played with but we kept the boxes no parts missing. Probably should sell to a collector of classic Lego but sentimental value / Xmas day building them with Dad - I’ll never sell.

Well I never knew that! Thanks Funk.
