Ah - if there's something new and interesting, that's different.

My Airbus arrives tomorrow.

While you are waiting for pics of BobToc's wife hehe , here's one of the Airbus (can of Guinness for scale).

Finished it yesterday, quite a good build and I've not really enjoyed the last few Technic sets I've done. Very clever mechanism that changes the angle of attack of the rotor blades, controlled by the joystick & lever inside the cockpit. Motorised rotors, undercarriage and winch. Ignore the minifig dangling from the winch, addition of the grandson.

So Lego officially launched the new Peugeot hypercar at a WEC themed event with Peugeot team and drivers in Portugal when there is a WEC test weekend at Portimão. Very cool marketing.

I wonder if Peugeot are paying Lego to make this, rather than the (normal) other way round, as it seems to benefit Peugeot hugely.

Jadlam have it at £365.
It was available (after import duty etc) at £318:49 a few days ago from Amazon Germany, so might be worth keeping a look out there.

Sold out when I looked sadly.
You could try again, but looking happily?
laugh

It's on Amazon Germany for EUR 319 and in stock.

It's a shame that future Technics car builds will only have suspension to do - no more engines with pistons moving or clever gearboxes like the Land Rover Defender etc.

They can always go historical.

Or maybe it means there'll be more cranes, tracked vehicles, things where there are other mechanisms. I'm not convinced the firing order is at all realistic in most of the engines.

Anyone got the new "Classic Defender" set yet? Very interested in it.
Jader just posted his thoughts over in the Non-Technic Lego thread: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Still waiting on mine to arrive from Lego...! They're SO SLOW at shipping for some reason.
Thanks for that. That's a little disapointing actually. I thought it would be a technic set.

I couldn't find much info online about it but from the pics I assumed it was like the new defender technic set with a working gearbox, moving pistons etc.

I'll probably still pick it up though, it'll look good alongside the mustang.

From the reviews there's some Technic to form the chassis and suspension, but it's mostly System.

Anyone else built the totally underwhelming Ford GT?

I was almost at the end of bag 4 & discovered 2 missing pieces!!!

Even before that I was growing too hate it. Too dark, crap wheels. Dull. Uninspiring build.

So now it’s sat in the corner. Broken. Hateful thing.

As for the Peugeot - looks great, even at circa £200. Think that will be next purchase.

My Airbus arrived.

Can't start it until I turn the Unimog into parts, turn the parts into the Raptor, and take that apart and bag it.

This is all OK.

At the end of bag three so far, quite enjoying it. However my sticker sheet was not protected in the box and was quite scrunched up. No missing bits yet though. You can request Lego to send you replacements, they’re pretty quick to do so.

Replacements ordered as soon as discovered they were missing. Lego say 7 - 10 days.

Not impressed with the missing parts on a £100 kit.

It’s the dull blue colour scheme that I can’t stand. Would have looked better in a brighter colour.

I wasn't interested in the Peugeot until this video:

which seems to suggest that it would be an interesting build...

I’m liking the look at the Peugeot and at £169.99 dare I say not badly priced for Lego. Interested to hear about the Ford GT as was considering buying it but I might hold off now. The colour does look naff in my opinion. Why not the iconic Gulf colours? Maybe licensing rights is the reason.

Looks pretty cool. Not sure how complex though. I've got the old Le Man's racer and Chiron yet to build.
I love cars.

I love racing.

I love Lego.

That……. Does not excite me. And certainly not for £200
If I bought this and the defender lego im paying over £400 its getting daft now

It’s £170, not £200
