Additions of windows/doors/height makes the game so much better - I genuinely think the more terrain, the better the game...
Quite amusing when up against a gun line, and starting turn 3 he's not had a single shot, but then neither have I! However, that soon changes - and gunlines aren't penalised that badly (unlike 40k) by letting the enemy get fairly close.
You would say that being a filthy deathwatch player! I'm going to make up some lore around missions fought on some salt flats somewhere...Quite amusing when up against a gun line, and starting turn 3 he's not had a single shot, but then neither have I! Generally, Deathwatch are best at range - the Special Issue Ammo really helps mitigate penalties for range/cover. I've had limited success when running melee - they're only one wound and a regular marine save...
So,
I popped on to PH to see about BF:V and noticed this little thread going!
Sway got me into this in Jan. This is all his fault. Started reading the Horus Heresy books in the preceding November.
Death to the false emperor and all that
I started 40K with Black Legion (who i cannot for the life of me find images for), then expanded to World Eaters. I recently started Night Lords for Horus Heresy... and a Dark Mechanicum force.
I've also got a blog with loads of pictures, conversion guides, paint schemes, background histories for the custom "Houses" etc:
https://legiotraitoris.blogspot.com/
Onto some pictures- i'm not going to apologise for the amount haha:
For those who have bandwidth limits... i can only apologise...
I'm hoping this year will see me take my World Eaters and go through a strip and repaint (i'm not happy with the quality), finish my Dark Mechanicum army (it's almost there) and generally smash out more games in both systems...
Finally, i'm hoping Sway will get his ass in gear for a bit of Titanicus - as my mini titan maniple is my next project!

First of all, this thread is really going to turn downhill now Havoc's arrived.
Second, I officially hate you if you're turning out mini's like that in under a year.

Si's progress has been awesome to watch (Post up your first berserker chap!) - but then it bloody should be, he's painted 100k points worth!
Those are some sexy models, love the lightning Dread pair, in fact all the lightning vehicles! What's going on with the Warhound titan model? Scale seems way off, either that or Knights are much bigger than I realised!
Either way they inspired me - new year's resolution, buy minis and learn to paint!!

As for my first model... Details!? PAH!! They're overrated
The Black Legion CSM is my first actual unit - the banner was sacrificed for a Knight a while back... and the World Eater is my first unit from my second army a few months later... Prior to the strip and repaint/restructure into the 30K scheme and a more vicious list - i kept these guys as a "step mark".
The slight blurring is actually doing me a favour... it's horrifically bad - zero detail anywhere. The World Eater isn't massively better!
The plan for this year has changed... I've decided to "Embrace the Wraith"....
Iyanden Wraith Host is coming!! Literally is 85% Wraith constructs.
Whilst they're Craftworld Iyanden, they will be in custom colours and have their own backstory from way back when the Great Devourer rolled 6's to wound on Iyanden like a boss.
Full breakdown/Backstory here: https://legiotraitoris.blogspot.com/2018/12/projec...
The scheme may not jump out at you as being particularly good, but i have a plan in my head that marries up a lot of the stuff i've learnt over the last year regarding pre-shading, wash trickery, highlighting, OSL and the likes. I just hope it translates (geddit? a webway joke) into reality as it looks in my head.

Just to reinforce the "Havoc has only been painting a year" - it's the anniversary of him coming up to Warhammer World to meet up with me and a couple of other PHers to watch us have a game and see what it was all about...
Then we went into the exhibition, and he saw Titans...
"What is a Ti-Tan? OOOH Pretty things!"Then we went into the exhibition, and he saw Titans...
Sat down with a beer tonight (i've been working today so no danger of getting lit tonight ha) and made a better in depth review of my first year.

Played a few more games yesterday using my new Grey Knights KT, they got absolutely st on by my friends Death Watch and Thousand Sons.
The game seems really harsh against melee at the moment making it really hard to get into combat and then if you don't kill someone in a turn they can fall back in the next movement phase and leave you with not a lot to do other than fall back yourself and do nothing or stand there and get shot to crap!
I'm going to have to have another think on tactics and try and work out how to play them!
