How do you rate the Otto models? Equivalent to Autoart?
Otto models are made of resin and sealed. AutoArts are generally diecast with opening door/bonnets and boots. Diff to compare. AutoArts are a lot more expensive. In terms of detail and finish, Otto are v decent indeed. Their QC used to be a bit dubious but they've stepped up their game in the last year or so. Lubi325 said:
Yes, the Estoril one. Looks really nice. I have the Otto E36 GT, would go nicely with that.
Only thing with the Otto models is the doors, bonnet and boot do not open.
Yes, being resin that's true. However, the paint finish and the detail make up for it. I have quite a few Otto BMWs and have been pleased with all of them. I'd certainly recommend it.Only thing with the Otto models is the doors, bonnet and boot do not open.
Otherwise for an diecast with opening parts Estoril Blue E36 M3, you could look into obtaining an old 'UT Models' 1/18 from eBay.

Hi
I was hunting though some boxes and have an unopened 1/18 UT E36 M3 Convertible in Techno Violet, is it worth anything?
Thanks
Absolutely. If as you mention it is in great/unopened condition, on eBay I'd expect anything from £40-60+I was hunting though some boxes and have an unopened 1/18 UT E36 M3 Convertible in Techno Violet, is it worth anything?

Liking the 6 Series. Anson?
One of the model car forums I post on has a whole subsection for modified 1/18s.

Norev is making decent stuff, hope they keep their prices at reasonable levels. They seem to be creeping up.
Minichamps continue to annoy me. Expensive and poor QC.
Had to send this back. Missing wiper and broken wheel. Expect better for £150.
Have however had a rather nice AutoArt E30 M3 in Jagermeister livery delivered. Makes up for my Minichamps grumbles.

Incredible collections. Sadly I gave away quite a few of my models that I have been collecting over the years. I kept only the ones I "cant" do without hehe. Ill upload a few when I get the chance.
Love that Bugatti and the Le Mans cars. Collected Le Mans, BTCC etc back in the day. Which I kept all of them. You guys are making me want to start up again. But man the prices have skyrocketed. Also not really a fan of the resin models but I did get a couple since AA, BBR etc wont make the models I want in die-cast. Can't replace high-quality diecast with resin imho.
Agree on this. Is this closed shell resin thing a recent trend? Some of the higher end ones look great but being able to open things up is part of the fun isn't it?Love that Bugatti and the Le Mans cars. Collected Le Mans, BTCC etc back in the day. Now seemingly Minichamps (and others) are following suit with sealed models.
I, like you would prefer opening diecast, however I'm a BMW fanboy first and model collector second. If it means the difference between a resin model of a car I like or no model, I'll choose the former.
(As an aside, the paint finish of the GT Spirit models has been some of the best I've even seen).
I'm not a Porsche collector, but if I was I'd definitely be buying this! Amazed this is a genuine livery.

Here is a great looking model, the BMW as raced at the 2010 LeMans and part of their ART CAR series. Modelled by Minichamps it comes with a display case and lovely base.
Very collectible and there are many different versions!

Never count them. Or add up the value!
I know! (My model car collection is worth a LOT more than my actual car)

I justify the cost by telling myself there all free, in that there's very few models I've bought that I couldn't get back at least what I
paid for them if sold.
Likewise. paid for them if sold.
