Picked up the Speed Champions McLaren F1 Race Car this morning. Looking forward to building to this weekend and getting into the spirit of the new F1 season.

March 1st has been an expensive day - went into my local Lego shop and bought

Senna McLaren MP4/4
4 (5)x Speed Champions
3x Star Wars Starship Collection
(a free Micro-build flower shop)

The big F1 Mercedes is on its way, hopefully with the GWP micro Space build, then I’m after the new R2D2 and Technic Kawasaki… Damn you Lego!

I've just realised that the preorder I made probably won't come for my daughter's birthday next weekend. Arse.

More importantly, neither will my Senna set.....

I had my lighting gear out, so took a picture of Dom

I think my next project will be a LEGO background for this sort of image.

Whoops. I appeared to have skipped the gym after work yesterday and popped into the Lego store.

Kingfisher for the Mrs and Spider-Man as an investment purchase as I think this one is going to do very well after retirement.

Saw the Senna model on display. Not a fan.

The new Speed Champions will be purchased at a later date (probably when on offer on Amazon)

Very tempted by the midi scale new smStar Wars sets but again, not at Lego prices.

Built the new Speed Champions McLaren F1 Race Car this morning. A nice build with some neat details and interesting build techniques.

My only criticism....... stickers. Hated them when I was a kid and I still hate them. Plenty of them in this set so took a bit of patience.

Just opened my McLaren and hate stickers as well..
Made Harry Potter car earlier and only 3 stickers, not a bad build for the price

Competed first four bags of the Senna McLaren Earlier.

Enjoying the build so far, as others have said...some nice details. Like the use of green and yellow/blue in places that will be hidden from site, I presume as a reference to Ayrton being Brazilian.

I know its not a technic model, but am missing some of the fun of building the technic bits with this one, would of served well as a full scale model maybe. Last one I built was the Le Mans car and that was fantastic.

Telling myself won't be any more purchases soon...not sure i'll keep to it though!

Has anyone built a Red Bull speed champions car at all - or can recommend any instructions? I've seen a few that seem to be a rework of the Mercedes car but I've struggled to find something reliable...

Jo finished the beautiful Kingfisher today. It’s really lovely.

And it has a space on the shelves

I picked one up today, popped into the toy shop at the local outlet centre to find the had a good selection of Lego and slipped and ‘accidentally’ purchase the Kingfisher & MP4/4.

Looks bigger than I was expecting from those shots.

I made the mini Disney Haunted Mansion. Worth it on offer, I'd say; moderately clever how the windows are done, but generally just a nice straightforward little build.
