fk me. Been away from this thread for a few days and WHAT A MESS!

All this Lepin legal st. Bloody hell, whatever happened to a few car minded blokes talking about LEGO!

Anyway, I am sick of LEGO. Just spent 2hrs shifting 3,500 sets up a load of stairs.
Indeed. Bit of over zealous moderation which I looked into and sorted. Ironically now LEPIN has it's own dedicated thread smile

Hi all,

I have fond memories of gigantic (to my eight-year old self) blue-and-white spaceships, with detachable modules and sweeping lines that could investigate strange new star systems etc. There appears to be bugger-all cool space stuff in the current Lego range though! Am I missing something?

I ask solely for my son's benefit of course . . .

The closest recent set to those is Benny's Spaceship: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/302042256249 - no longer produced but RRP was £80 or so, IIRC, so it hasn't gone up in price yet. Commonly available for sub-£60 a year or two ago, though, so you might find it cheaper than £80 now if you're canny.

The most recent Space theme by Lego was called Galaxy Squad -

Its more vehicles than spaceships though. As mentioned, Benny's spaceship is a good option.

That new death star appears to be almost identical to the old one, few minor tweaks and some extra minifigs, but the price is rumoured to be £450, which is a bit more than just inflation at play, as the old one was what, £275?

Supply and demand I guess, they'll easily sell as many as they can make, two thirds to speculators no doubt.

Either way a bargain for those like me who would love the set but are not able to fund a previous version now. I'd love it if they could somehow bring back the modular buildings that are no longer produced as well.

If ive read this right....

If you look you will find previous death star and modular buildings.
At decent prices!
If you want them enough.
Only for things that are no longer produced in my case.
