I've got them both. If I was only getting 1 I'd get the saturn V

I've also got them both, the F40 is a fun build with some clever use of bricks, but the Saturn V is just fantastic and more of a scale model.

It only gives me the option to add to wishlist. Annoying as I really wanted one for building over Christmas but it's not going to happen now.

As a serial buyer and AFOL, to be honest, at that price I'd buy a Lepin (and I've said many times that on principal alone, I'd never buy a knock-off of a set that was still available).

I'm in the fortunate position of being able to afford the new UCS Falcon, but given the £500+ premium over it's Chinese counterpart (which I bought before the re-issue was out) there's no way I can justify it.

Secondly, to be honest building becomes a bit of a chore after a while. It may have 7000+ pieces, but given umpteen hundred are aerial pivots, it's hard to maintain interest.

All IMHO of course!

Lego must be laughing all the way to the bank....

I have both of the F40 and Saturn V; I haven't yet built the Saturn (I'm still on the double-decker bus build) but am very much looking forward to it. It seems to be a truly excellent display piece and the build looks to utilise some interesting techniques too.

The F40 has proudly been on display along with the other Creator cars and looks great. Some excellent detailing in it; it's the one every car mate asks to play with when visiting wink

I managed to pick up a UCS Falcon at Watford Lego store yesterday so it looks like they are slowly drip feeding into stores.

Seems they are drip feeding these in, wonder if it's production problems or new lego strategy for release?

Hope that they do manage to provide more sets so actual fans can get rather than people buying them to sell on at a later date.

They appeared to always be out of stock of the Saturn V until December where it’s now been in stock all month so hopefully the same will happen for the falcon.

The Saturn V is impressive, it almost doesn't feel like a Lego piece once finished, it's so smooth.

But it'll just sit there and do nothing, no real play potential, and quite big/heavy for a child to play with, or to take up space and gather dust.

Maybe it's a waste to break down for using to play/build stuff with with a child?

So impressive yes, but that's kinda it.

We had 24 of the Falcons arrive at our store yesterday morning. All went within about an hour. Some people had got word we were getting them in and had been queuing for 2+ hours to get one.

The Saturn V is a beautiful kit to build.

Got mine displayed in three pieces. Looks superb.

I got the Women In Space set today. My son got BB8!

This is obviously non-technic lego but may not appeal to everyone. Anyway my folks cleared out their loft recently and found a box of all our old Lego Castle sets from the late 80s/ early 1990s, as well as a lot of space stuff from before then that I haven't looked into yet.

Quite a few complete (or nearly) sets some of which I've put together.

I had forgotten how much I liked lego and now have an overwhelming desire to start collecting the mass of Castle sets I never had (although prices might hold me back!). Anyway, an incomplete list:

6067 - Guarded Inn (not built)
6066 - Camouflaged outpost (like this set but think pieces might be missing)
6077 - Forestmens river fortress (can't find the base board and maybe other pieces missing)
6034 - Black monarchs ghost (missing bits I think)

6057 - Sea serpent
6016 - Knights arsenal
6012 - Siege Cart
6023 - Maidens cart
6039 - Twin arm launcher
6081 - Kings mountain fortress
6054 - Forestmens hideout
6038 - Wolfpack renegades
6075 - Wolfpack tower
6011 - Black Knights treasure (bit broken)

I've also just discovered that my partner had pirate stuff when she was little including at least one massive boat (which I always wanted as kid) so that'll keep me busy for a bit...

It's just not as fun buying/collecting as an adult and not being able to play with it.
However playing with it with kids is great, but then collectible old kits is a waste too.

I'm thinking of selling all my 'display' sets and just buying play sets like trains, city sets, etc.

The only thing I'd think to buy old sets of is Technic as it's lots better for kids to make their own designs with.
Even as an adult the modern technic is not an intuitive and organic building process any more.
