Today I have defeated Sun Damage!
Admittedly the results were not as good as I expected but getting hold of liquid hydrogen peroxide has proven tricky....
Are you going to carry on experimenting or did you do them all in one go? You can reuse the peroxide iirc.Admittedly the results were not as good as I expected but getting hold of liquid hydrogen peroxide has proven tricky....
I've been trying to restore some dirty old pieces with mixed results. 10-20 mins in the dishwasher on 50 degrees works fine but anything hotter and the colour fades. I'll wash the odd bits in future but it's easier to chuck them away and bricklink replacements for a few pence.

The wings and other bits there were in on Friday morning and left all weekend in the sun (apparently it needs that as you need the UV light to make it effective). I'm doing more today but this will be just one day but in a more concentrate solution - I'll keep trying as I want to whiten them up as much as possible...

I washed a huge load of ours that I got for free in the washing machine.
Stick it all in a pillow case and tie the end.
Low temp wash does the job perfectly
I thought about that, but I'd be paranoid about what might break free - Plus, the amount I've got, I'd need about 4 pillow cases.Stick it all in a pillow case and tie the end.

On the up side, I've just got 3 bottles of 9% and 1 bottle of 6% peroxide

My kids were over the moon - Me, I was suitably chuffed but the realisation of the scale of sorting, washing and rebuilding was a bit of a hit
Has anyone bought the new Speed Champions Ferrari Ultimate Garage set yet?
Features a 250 GTO, a 488 race car & a 312T4 F1 car.
Apart from the 250 looking a little odd it looks quite good.
However. £90.00.......
Is it worth it as having already spent £42.00 on the new Speed Champions, the Mustang has so far avoided me, I’m not sure I want to blow another £90.00 with the Chiron not too far off.

That's what 20 years uncovered in a loft will do knew there would be discoloring but didn't think it would be that bad! Glad it's scrubbing up well though.Admittedly the results were not as good as I expected but getting hold of liquid hydrogen peroxide has proven tricky....
And if anyone is interested, my Mini, Camper, Unimog, Caterham and Flatbed truck (all with manuals) are all still for sale; as is the 8880 black technic supercar from the 90s; PM me if interested. Also have the Apollo rocket which I'd probably let go too.

On the up side, there's motors in this and I've worked out how to connect it to my newer lego 42068 Airport Fire Tender so that's another project for another time...

Wow, very nice haul, and yes, I can imagine having to sort and clean all that lot would get boring fairly quickly!http://lego.brickinstructions.com/m/lego_instructi...

The Porsche set is good apart from the headlights on the 930 Turbo.
Look like bugs eye. Not good.
I built the 919, the Ferrari 488 & the Fiesta rally car yesterday. All good apart from the myriad of tiny fiddly little stickers.
Only car I can’t find is the Ford Mustang.
Still not sure about the new Ferrari set though. Seems expensive for what it is.
