I don't think I've ever seen that set before. Might have to try and find one as it would go well with this

What kit number is this or is it your own concoction?

Either way it looks good.

Anyone knows the best place to buy around 2000-3000 bricks for a project?

Cheers

Yeh. That smile it's modified as the kids like it and will want to put men in it and the solid roof didn't work

There will be more sets rebuilt as I clean them up....

That's on the list, love the Y wing and a reasonable price for a change.

Anyone else concerned about all the crime in Lego City? It's rampant with criminals and police, and why are there no paramedics or ambulances in this place?
No ambulances, but tons of rescue planes and helicopters!

Which brings me to my current problem, my oldest turns 7 in two weeks, and has requested a helicopter for her airport (currently has a cargo plane and air-ambulance). Under €40, i have about 7-8 sets which include a helo to pick from, and there is no real clear winner to me eek

The tiny 4-wide copters dont really impress me, the twin rotor in the police set i find rather small for the price of the set (many parts go into the side builds i imagine), which leaves the big coast guard machine, and no less then 4 6 wides (ambulance, firefighter, police and jungle cargo) to pick from.. (and annoyingly, no baseplate with a helipad)

The planes she has are the same 6-wide size, so i feel the big coast guard machine would feel out of scale, but at the same time i dont think the sidebuilds on most of the smaller set really add value for her, and id like to give her something impressive, and at least to me the €20 sized 6-wide helos dont really impress much

If it helps with your decision, there is a Hospital coming later in the year, so an air ambulance might be good.

My parents are finally moving house after many many years so my wife is finally discovering the full extent of the Lego "problem" I had in my youth...

There is a LOT more where that can from..

I think you're missing the point of the lego thread.

Wasting money ?

The lego one doesn't look as good and costs more.
Maybe you're right, I don't get it.
So what is the point ?

It’s also about 1/4 the size (being 1/72 scale), requires building, painting etc and the finished product will depend on how good your modelling skills are.

Don’t get me wrong, I love those little Bandai kits (I’ve got several in the stash) but they’re in a totally different market to Lego.

Oooooh that looks exciting. My kind of era I'd guess (late 80s/early 90s). Is that the pirate Fort Eldorado?

Very slow progress due to me getting sidetracked building a large powered Lego helicopter (motor powering the main and tail rotors)...

But I do like this set smile
