I like the new trains as well. The high speed train is nice, but you really need 2 of them or a dummy loco section to make it a complete "unit".

I like the more compact and integrated power functions unit. However not seen one close enough to be sure how it works in terms of add ons.

For example, my current heavy haul locomotive has been upgraded to have 2 powered bogies and a light unit (the space for upgrading to working lights is part of the design and already reserved -clever of lego or maybe original spec downgraded for cost?). With the old power functions its easy to use wire extentions, stack multiple plugs etc to run off one "channel". Can't see how you can do that on the new system.......

However app control could be integrated to make it do some funky st. Blue tooth station sensors etc could be used to programme it to stop at stations etc.

The more compact set up might help me make a nice ultra compact yard shunter too.

Looks great thumbup How old is your son - mine would destroy that in under 10 seconds. laugh

Where did you get the windmills from? Are they official sets? I've got a couple of custom ones but they are a lot smaller.

He's 4 and a half and he does occasionally break things, although I've pretty much turned into the Will Ferrell character from the Lego Movie.

The turbines are an official set, 7747, although discontinued. I got a used one from Bricklink and then Bricklinked the parts to make a second turbine.

The DB5 is released in 45 mins. Ridiculous embargo time.

It's still ugly, but the ejector seat, machine guns, bullet proof pop up and other details look great.

Is it the colour which is special? The lack of interesting sculpting may be down to it being more traditionally built than the more recent SNOT models, so it could be a constraint of making a limited number of bricks in the silver.

ETA: now I've seen the review it's clear the body is simply grey, not silver. Which makes the spin about it being painted Silver Birch in the launch even more of a let down.

I so wanted that to look better.

The profile and rear are acceptable but the nose really is bad.

I'll probably grab one and cross my fingers the MOC world can do a better job of it.

Having seen the video of it I’m undecided, I really want to like it!
It’s not as bad as that leaked shot originally showed though. I think I’d have to see it in person before making a decision.
Is there a price yet?

£130 I think.

I saw another photo next to a real db5 and it looked better. Sometime Lego are terrible at photos. I think the Technic Porsche looks better in real-life.

£129.99

Looks like the time Homer Simpson designed a car, surprised Lego have released it.

Will see if the price comes down.

Having read Brickset's review, I think the functions are great and it looks an interesting build. Shame the final result doesn't look as good as the other Creator vehicles (though I always thought the F40 looked a bit stumpy anyway, so mine was dismantled fairly quickly).

That Lego Porsche does look ugly in pictures. I haven’t seen the db5 yet.
