It does looks odd. The front is too vertical, like a triumph herald. hehe

Something still tempting about a bond Lego set though.

Quite often the Lego photos don't do their cars justice. For example on the box and in photos the 250GTO in the Speed Champions set looks very odd, but much better standing in front of you.

But this ain't pretty...

I know the DB5 is licensed but that's a staggering mark up on the previous Creator Expert sets. As far as I'm aware it only has a couple of new/unique parts.

DB5: £130 for 1295 pieces
VW T1: £85 for 1334 pieces
Beetle: £75 for 1167 pieces
Mini: £80 for 1077 pieces
London Bus: £110 for 1686 pieces

Too expensive.

Too ugly.

I'll stick to building the rollercoaster with my son smile

Saturn 5 is fantastic value when you look at this.

Indeed. This will have to await a hefty reduction before I'll consider adding it to the existing Creator car collection....

Even by Lego's recent price-inflation standards, this is quite a hike.

No pets or kids? I wouldn't be confident standing mine up! Thankfully it looks great led down using the supports that come with it.

Just imagine how much better it would have looked if it was a similar size to the Le Mans set

...actually it is a similar size, how did Lego cock it up so badly?!?

All I’m hoping is they they follow it up with the Lotus, that would work much better in Lego

Mines standing on a shelf however any DIY I place it on the supports in a safe place as I’m so nervous it will topple over.

I couldn’t help it, I’ve got the rest of the creator cars so had to order the Aston too - £60in VIP points helped soften the blow

Similar here - OCD demanded it for completeness and a friend of a friend kindly offered me the second one they're allowed to buy under staff discount.

I am however going to be keeping a close eye on fan sites to see if anyone comes up with a neater front-end, even if it means losing the machine guns. It's mostly a display piece for me so I'm fine sacrificing that feature for it to look the part.

As mentioned earlier, there really is no mistaking that DB5 for any other car, it’s a Lego interpretation, not a scale model.

Mine’s on the way and £25 of Vip points have made it a bit more reasonable.

Shame there’s no mini DB5 to accompany it, would been a more interesting freebie than the ‘licence to build’.

I’ve got mine and built it up, the pictures don’t do it justice. The front does look abit iffy at some angles but then again it’s made out of Lego. I think the price is a bit steep but I used lego points to bring it down to £90

Saw the DB5 on display at the local Lego shop, doesn't look that bad TBH. A damnded sight better than the Technic Porsche and Chiron anyway, though I know they're not all about the looks.
Beetle is next on my list followed by the Mini I think.

Harry Potter castle and other related stuff coming out in September. It doesn’t interest me personally but looks an impressive build.

Only 4 minifigs. They've missed a trick not putting a mini fig size Hagrid with the micro sized everyone else. Although I think his hut would then be too small.

Does Russ come into this thread? I was wondering if he can offer a discount on the Hogwarts Express. I'd love it on my mantlepiece.
