Busted!
What you need is a Trojan box. She knows about the box and you get to hide stuff in it. Commonly used by people travelling to hobby shows such as IPMS Telford. The Trojan box goes off empty to be sold but returns with additional contents at the end of the show as no one wanted it.

I'm quite new to Lego, but now In my mid fifty's with a five year old grandson I've started buying myself him a few kits.
It's taken him the best part of a year to build the camper during his weekend visits. Obviously i help, I get the parts out in their groups and tell him where to put each bit but hes getting the hang of it quiet well.
It now sits on top of an old opticians eye test unit high up the wall in the hall stairway.
Next will be ether the Mack Anthem or the Bugatti Chiron.
As someone who was once that five year old grandson, carry on being that kind of grandfather! It's taken him the best part of a year to build the camper during his weekend visits. I have been told I am not, under any circumstances, to buy the Mustang or any other Lego kits for the considerable future.
Why?
SWMBO found my hidden stash of Lego & trainers!!!! 6 kits she didn’t know I had & 14 pairs of trainers........
You aren't allowed to spend your money how you want. Do you like being controlled or is it something that's gotten worse over the years? Why?

I've now ordered to Mustang as you suggested.

You can only imagine the uproar on mumsnet if a wife, that earns her own money, said that her husband had found out how many bags and shoes she owned, went mad and banned her from buying any more.
But it's ok, you keep defending his wifes controlling behaviour.
OK. But you sound like someone that's suffered in the past from this and it's all a little close to home. So, let's just park it.But it's ok, you keep defending his wifes controlling behaviour.

Yes. Let's.Against the odds, since I've never really "got" the Mustang, I quite like the look of the stock version. The modded version, not so much....
I've got all of the other Creator cars so I guess it's inevitable I'll succumb at some point, when I can liberate some discretionary spend cash.
More pressing though is a complete lack of space to put anything new in the cubbyhole that passes for my man-cave!
And on the theme of Lego cars, I think this is rather good. Just needs another 8,000 votes or so to make it a reality...

Nothing to do with being controlled or whatever you might think. I said I would curtail my buying sprees & then I carried on.
The previous owners of my house had a very large shed built and in it they put a snooker table. We don't really play but it comes in handy for all sorts. This week it's a lego City.
Busy morning.
Looks like there is an event on, this is the queue.
Posh seats are filling up nicely. Looks like someone is in disguise on their day off.
The Cheap seats still have a great view.

Now, see, that did very little for me when I first saw it, but nobody mentioned blowers, bug catchers and side pipes! Are they all included in the kit?
