Just got back from New York so I’ve finally built the Statue of Liberty which I got for Christmas. I’ve seen it built in cases in store before but it’s far more dramatic and interesting at home. Great model; and despite the necessary repetition in the build, the way it’s built isn’t boring.

Got to build the Flat Iron Building and Solomon Guggenheim next laugh

I keep getting invites to that but with no clue as to why I just ignored it.
Do people go to these things blind?

I do like the look of that set.

Just picked up the Tantive 4 set and still need to do the Mustang.
Plus loads of others.

They've released more details. First 400 people in the queue get an entry wristband, which allows you to go in at midnight and buy the set (it costs £180!) signed by the designer. Whilst there they will also have refreshments and mini builds to do.

£180?! I was really looking forward to this but that is insane pricing.

2287 pieces, so a fairly hefty set and broadly in line with the cost of other large licensed sets.

Most of it looks like 1x1 and 1x2 bricks and at least half of them are the same in an different colour!

I was in the Lego store on Sat and one of the staff asked if I was coming down for this event. They couldn't confirm or deny what it was but dropped some strong hints that this was all correct. The staff member did say they had seen/built it and it was 'excellent'

Had a good look at the set in London yesterday, it's absolutely stunning. Really clever build and crammed full of details. The minifigs are some of the best released for some time too.

They had loads left (they had 800 for the midnight launch but didn't get anywhere near the 400 capacity).

Was in London the weekend and had a good look and play with the Stranger Things set.

Yep we also brought one. Not started the build yet but should do this week.

To tie in with the 60th anniversary of the landing.

I wonder if they are planning an Apollo 13 module with a couple of random missing pieces?
