I just ordered the Lamborghini Speed Champions set - has anyone built this one yet? It’s part of the new-wave 8 wide sets, so far the Audi, Nissan and Ferrari have been great little builds.

You will not be disappointed. Probably my favourite ever Lego build. It is simply epic.
What's so good about it? Isn't it a little repetitive?

With a 5 month old baby around I've done sod all LEGO building for a good while but my partner loves any boat so we've finally found some time to work on the awesome Ninjago boat, Destiny's Bounty.

Love the detail in some of the bigger Ninjago sets and this ones no different. Lots of oriental touches, very few repetitive bits and I get to build whilst my girlfriend hunts for pieces. Works for me!

I love the big Ninjago sets, no real interest in the cartoon or smaller sets but the city and docks were two of my favourite builds, so much going on. Really enjoyed building the ship too.

Have to agree on the point about the Saturn rocket, I'm sure it's an impressive looking one, but I can't see it being as interesting to build as Ninjago City.

Lots of interesting techniques. The only repetitive part is fitting some the outer skin to the frame.

Just finished the little Audi. It's a lovely model. Really like the scale of the new Speed Champions sets.

No it’s all split into sections that detach and is really interesting to make.

I made it with my son and had a bit of a read of the manual which is like a little history book and has loads of info about each section.

I really enjoyed making it. I’d say it’s the best set I’ve made.

Plus you don’t really see the scale until it’s furnished.

That seems to be a thing - I used to order regularly from German Bricklink sellers and they almost always included Haribo.

FYI, when building, do not stand stages 1 & 2 vertically on carpet while building stage 3...

Haha thank you. I already had some drama with it falling to bits during the first parts of construction.

Probably says more about me than the lego though. For those interested, as mentioned by a few posters, it’s fun so far and has been mentioned has a lot of historic content re the real Saturn V and Apollo missions. The USA cladding bit was repetitive as you’ve got to do it 4 times but nothing too bad...I quite liked that bit to be honest smile

Nice, the little chick looks cool, sold out really quick though.

The ISS takes up quite a bit of space once built.

Jaguar Speed Champions built.

Not overly impressed with the set. I found it a little bit boring.

Hopefully the Lamborghini set will be more enjoyable.

I dont understand why the lambo set is £20 more, licencing i assume. You will have to see when you build, if its worth the extra

It annoyed me as well however we will see tomorrow.

As for the Jaguar set - I think it was made by Caterham because every time you look at the Jags something falls off.

As it does with the Lego Caterham!!

Funnily enough, I think the Mercedes-AMG speed champions car is exactly the same - So very fragile...

I'm trying to work out which is my favourite, but currently it's a toss up between the GT40 or the Porsche 917

Definitely the coolest one I've seen so far.

Although this one is also very impressive and manages to push the idea to new heights!
