Not holding my breath for when mine arrives then! Likely to be very disappointed. As said above by someone else, I wanted the set with the VIP pack because I am a collector and a fan and like having the extra bits - I got the keyring and sticker with the Mustang set. Not to sell on, but to keep and enjoy for myself.

Doesn't upset me at all - I have ordered the set myself

I just find it a little tragic that people aren't buying these toys as a bit of fun / entertainment as they should be. They buy them to put away and sell for a profit when Lego stop selling them. The only reason an adult is going to be concerned enough to complain about not getting a pack of postcards is for their value further down the track.

Ironic that the situation mirrors basically the Porsche GT car threads........
And that is where you'd be incorrect, please don't make assumptions about me based on your own views and failings, my anger is that an email was sent out telling VIPs, of which like many i am one, that the set would be available for order on the 16th of February, they then released the set early and the flippers scooped them up pushing out people who genuinely want the set and the LTD edition pack for their own collection.
Quite correct. Not everyone flips the kits. I don’t sell any of mine & I never would. I wanted the VIP pack too go with the model as advertised by Lego.

Who then proceeded too release the kit 2 hours before the time stated in their email to VIP’s meaning that, as stated above, the flippers got the packs & dumped them onto fleabay for stupid amounts of money.

And the genuine Lego collectors missed. So annoyed was I that I cancelled my order!!!!

Mine will be returned if it doesn't have the VIP kit with it. Its the only way to register my annoyance with Lego since they don't respond to emails in any reasonable timescale anymore.

Presumably they don't offer free returns?

It looks like a nice model, not sure why you wouldn't keep it and enjoy building it.

Lego give 90 days free returns. I've not used it before, but I guess that includes the delivery cost too.

Saw this mentioned earlier. Was in Asda this morning - all of the Elva’s have been sold.

I wondered how long before fleabay was infested. Just checked. Six on so far asking between £8.00 & £12.00!!!!

I am the same as Brummie and Bob. I have kept the order, which has been dispatched. I do not appreciate someone making assumption of my character thank you. I would not do it to you but sadly that does not seem reciprocal.

Lego do have form for early release - back in 2013(?) - 41999 (the dark blue 4x4 crawler) came out an hour or so early before midnight, when it was expected the next morning - but things weren't quite so bonkers with regards pricing / resale back then.

I remember one Saturday out for lunch with my wife walking past the Lego store and they had several on display..! so ended up buying two which i then had to carry to the restaurant a few bars and bus home which certainly displeased my wife...hehe

Still got them, one unopened and the other i built now dismantled and re-boxed.

Yup. I just checked back through the thread and there is a post edited at 23:23 (can’t see the original time stamp on my phone) the day before Ecto 1 was released from someone who’d ordered it.

So, they did the same thing with Ecto 1.

As I said a few posts back, I think it's because they're running an hour ahead on EU time, making it 11pm release here. Mine shipped from the EU and arrived this morning.

You were spot on. Lego made an announcement earlier this week to confirm release times are based on Central European Time. Would’ve been nice to know on Tuesday evening but at least we know now.

It went live on the UK site at 11pm on the 15th (Monday) which was midnight of the 16th CET.
