Non Technic LEGO

This may have been asked before, but where is the best place to sell unopened Lego sets? Got some non-Technic and a couple of Technic sets that I've decided I don't want to build so need to move them on. I'm not on Facebook etc, so that route is out.
I think it depends what you are selling. I personally found Gumtree OK for smaller value sets, (say up to £50/£60 ish) and not very good for selling more expensive larger sets. You do get cash in hand with no fees and not having to bother with packaging stuff up.
I've done OK on Ebay and there's a lot more buyers there. You can get an idea of the selling price via sold items and limit fees by selling with a max £1 final value offer. For big sets you'll need some big boxes to pack them in.
As mentioned above Bricklink is an option. It does seem to have higher prices than Ebay, personally I've not sold on there as I'm too lazy to set up a shop!

I sold a load of different sets last year, some on here via PM, and some using eBay. I didn't have any issues at all with any of the transactions. I was a bit nervous about eBay though as you never know who you're selling to, but luckily it worked out well. I always looked after the sets/boxes etc and most went for really good and fair amounts.I also sold a load of sets for my kids on eBay. These didn't make as much as they were played with/minus boxes/tatty books etc, but lots of photos and good descriptions really helps. The boys were happy with the money they made from it.
I probably need to get back on it, as I've not touched the stuff I decided to keep in 6 months. As someone mentioned before look for eBay selling promotions to make the most of it.

Received a very nice email apologising for how quickly the collectors sets had sold out, Lego have sent me a Speed Champions 1974 Porsche set and doubled my VIP points as an apology, pleased to have had a response, i really didn't think i'd have any response!!!
Likewise, received an e-mail last night apologising and Lego credited £20 of VIP points to my account. Bobberoo99 said:

You did better than me then, they gave me 1600 VIP points, which just about doubles what I had, but no free set for me.Their customer service has always been good like that though. A few years back I ordered the Speed Champions Mustang for my nephew’s birthday. When it arrived the outer box and the set box were crushed and squashed, so I complained as it was a birthday present. They told me to keep it, and also sent me a new one and gave me 1000 VIP points.

Still have the Saturn V, my favourite Lego set so far. It's boxed at the moment, plan is to rebuild each year in July around the launch anniversay. I'm glad Lego re-released it so I don't get tempted to sell it for silly money!

Nice. I just got a "demand was higher than anticipated " response. Awaiting return confirmation. Silenoz said:

Your call, but i wouldnt return it just because of a crappy free gift. I missed out aswell. It is a very good build. Fits in well with all the other creator vehicles.
I went for the turbo targa mix aswell. Excuse the crappy phone pics.

Thanks for your post - I may keep it on the basis of what you've said, especially as I've got the Beetle built, am halfway through the Fiat 500 and also have the Camper van to build - if it fits in well with those as a "classic cars" display then it may be worth keeping.
Just to give you an idea with the sets you have. Again excuse the crappy phone pics.Top Beardage there LaurasOtherHalf! I couldn,t decide which one to build so done a mish mash of both.
I know very little about either
Brickset or someone should really develop a "colour change" app for Lego part lists.
E.g. "I love this 911 set but I'd love it in <insert colour>."
Then you could get a list of parts with all the white swapped out for orange and part it out on Bricklink or something so you could build it in your preferred colour.

That would be a brilliant idea! E.g. "I love this 911 set but I'd love it in <insert colour>."

Seriously, though, thank you for posting the pics, that was a massive help.

It can take a while to set up a bricklink store. You could try Gumtree for something local, or try a few Lugs if you have a price in mind, most will want a good deal though unless it's something very rare.
