Finished the Saturn V tonight.

Have to say I didn't really enjoy the build. Not exactly sure why, but it wasn't the most fun.

The model once complete however is superb! Very impressed!

That's exactly how I felt about the London bus. There were a few "well that's clever" moments, but otherwise it was a little dull. The finished model though is a fine looking thing. Especially when lit up with a lighting kit.

I think the DB5 has been my favourite to date. Lots of really clever design and moments where you can't figure out what's going on and then it all just fits in place like a eureka moment.

I'm looking forward to the porsche build, but awaiting a lighting kit to arrive before I build it to see if I can incorporate it.

My briksmax VW camper light kit turned up so I decided to build my porsche.

I put the lights in whilst building it and I'm really pleased with the integration. The rear indicators are solid colour, not translucent, so they're not illuminated. Otherwise I'm pretty pleased and it looks great illuminated.

Only additional peices required was 2 clear buttons to go over the LEDs on the headlamps..

And the lightailing kit for the DB5 came at the same time. I'm amazed that all the gadgets and gizmos still work. Happy with it apart from the rear reversing lights are cool white and they would've been much better warm white, or none at all..

Whilst I built the porsche my wife built her Easter bunny too... really nice little kit with some nice features, like a carrot burrow in the ground underneath...

(Keen eyed amongst you might spot the mobile crane (42009), Arocs, and concrete mixer in the background)

That was one of my favourite technic builds.

Ambleton - the lighting kits look excellent mate.

With the Porsche - how easy would you say I could retrofit the kit, rather than incorporating it through the build like you have done?

I'm really tempted by one but not sure I want to tear the whole car down..

Rear lights, headlights and interior lighting should be straight forward enough... front indicators may be a touch tricky but to be honest it's lego, you can always rebuild it. I'd recommend removing chunks of the model at a time rather than individual peices as you'll never remember how it goes back together.

Get one that isn't pre-wired (like the briksmax) as you can route much easier, you'll need good light and a pair of tweezers. I had four LEDs left over, but thats no bad thing. The first kit I illuminated I broke 3 leds! You soon figure out the limitations.

Latest one from the "to build" pile. Enjoyable build and the functions are very clever.
But the moving screen, would not like to do that again. All them 1x1 pieces.

As an aside how cool is Brinklink?

Never used it before, but a couple of small pieces were missing from my Saturn V (It was preowned)

Bang them onto a wish list, press a button & voila. On there way. Brilliant.

Looks great ... Wish they would do a Donkey Kong set.

Damn, too slow on the bonsai.

Usual story, but always disappointing to see so many for sale by scalpers.

I've got wanted lists set up for everything so every time I go on for a couple of bits it's at least £50 to justify the post and packing, I end up buying 20 or 50 of each piece I only need a couple of because they might come in handy and they're only a few pence each and it soon stacks up.

Getting a big box of random pieces is sometimes better than getting a new set biggrin

To be fair to Lego they were limiting it to one per customer but the stock constraint is of course the driving factor...
