I’ve just been in the Leeds Lego store and they had plenty of Friends sets out on display. Nearly bought another in case the one I ordered for the wife’s birthday on Sunday didn’t turn up in time!
I thought they weren't on public sale until the 1st June?

Physical stores are usually able to put certain stuff out early (in the case of the Lego shop at Legoland - very early). We picked up the original Friends set from the Cardiff store ahead of launch, they even had ones out on display you could play with etc.

Latest project…an incomplete falling water set from eBay (I like a challenge!)

60 CAD plus delivery, so. at least 1/4 of the cost of known full sets

As it turns out, there were about 70 bits missing, not bad out of 811, basically the trees and entire last level of the building are not there, but have managed to source them for 15 CAD

Its an excellent build, I like the way it separates into layers.

I added extra trees to mine and a couple of other tiny mods. I bought mine as pre owned/in pieces/not sure if its all thereon ebay and then managed to get a box and instruction book separately.

Has anyone else seen the world map? I'm torn, but at £230, nope...

And thousands of 1x1 dots? Nope...

These Art sets must be proving popular for Lego to have confidence in releasing that. Doesn't do anything for me either.

sorry - no from me - I don't see that as proper lego (which is a construction toy)...
but great for the company if they can make money selling it...

I believe this is one of the cheapest price-per-part sets ever released.

11,130 of the 11,695 pieces are 1x1, just 32 individual elements in the entire set!

Am I the only one thinking that Lego have diversified too far? There are so many different sets and tie ins these days - Didn't they do this before and it almost led to their collapse?

On the other hand, people seem to be buying it all so I'm probably wrong/in the minority...

Eek does absolutely nothing for me either. Reminds me of a picture on a 70’s tv.

Great if you happen to need a very inaccurate bathymetric map of the world's oceans. OK the resolution for land features might be too low for a reasonable size, but it does seem rather pointless.

I was interested in the world map until I saw it!

I was expecting it look something like this rather nice MOC, with raised mountain chains, etc:

Yep, sales up 20% last year despite stock shortages, seem to be doing ok!

I guess they have done very well in the lockdowns with folks bored at home buying Lego for something to do.

I tend to agree but a business needs to diversify to some degree to stay relevant. Personally there seems to be less sets I’m interested in recently.

My youngest just finished his AT-AT. A cool model and great play toy with the various features. Not many things make me wish I was 6 again, but this does (the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing are nice things too. And OK, technically if I were 6 again these things wouldn't exist!).

The bits arrived(mostly)…I ended up with contrasting trees, which I don’t mind, Falling water is now complete
