That looks fantastic and a lovely way to honour your Dad's wish that you treat yourself.

Just arrived form Amazon, a MOC launch platform/stand for the Saturn V gives it a little more stability

Very much like. Starting smooching the wife now for that purchase! She will kill me if I ask for forgiveness. She will kill me twice if I ask for permission.

I get the nervousness about mounting the model too…… I dropped the Eiffel Tower 10181 not so long ago when moving rooms. I labelled as the Brickport Earthquake of 2021!

So, MF and the typewriter. If I don’t post for a while, the wife has found out!!
I have the Falcon sitting on this…
Vertical Display Stand for Lego Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon, DIY Display Holder Building Set - 407 Pcs (Not Included Lego Model) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B093K546D6/ref=cm_sw_r...
The same kit is available from plenty of places.

You definitely don’t want to drop the model. All the upper panels come off and the structural parts can become dislodged so you need to do more disassembly to get the frame correct before the rebuild starts.
Guess how I know!

Done, that's a great looking model.
Too much emphasis on the truck and not enough on actual Knight Rider.

There is only so much you can do with an 8 wide lego car! The truck is an easier model because its subject is flatter and more lego friendly.

I'd buy that as is.

Well this is rather nice:

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/pickup-truck-10...

https://www.brothers-brick.com/2021/06/30/lego-unv...

Due 01.10.21

Unsure if a "truck" goes with the rest of the Expert models. It'll be a battle of OCD demanding I buy them all vs it being a bit incongruous with the other classics/sports cars.

And this is another case of the Ideas being rejected and yet something similar appearing from Lego.

Yes, I will be getting one of these.

I’m not sure about the truck, I always wonder what to do with all the other bits with models like that. But, then again, maybe it could be ‘Gas Monkey’d’

hehe

I don’t get that at all.

It isn’t a model of a real truck, it is just a expensive lego model. It doesn’t fit with the VW Bus, Mustang, 911 etc.

If it was a Ford or a Chevy I’d be interested.

I wonder how long it'll be before we see a Tow Mater...

As an aside, I've ordered the Adidas trainer model (for my partner) and the minecraft stable - Which comes with the mini trainers (which I'll be keeping). The mini trainers are already on ebay for £40+ too...

With drink prices in Leicester Square I would expect the Lego to be cheaper.

Bought the Caterham set second hand. I did not appreciate how much time I would spend trying to find the individual pieces due to them not being in bags (as a new one would be). I enjoyed the build though and did not find it as fragile as has been described on these pages.
Trust me it will break.

Mine is currently sat on the recovery truck with 2 wheels & the exhaust system missing!!!!
I don't find the Caterham as flimsy as some make out either. I purchased the below stand from ebay and apart from once when the whole thing was knocked off the shelf haven't had an issue with it coming apart when being dusted etc.
