You definitely don’t want to drop the model. All the upper panels come off and the structural parts can become dislodged so you need to do more disassembly to get the frame correct before the rebuild starts.

There is only so much you can do with an 8 wide lego car! The truck is an easier model because its subject is flatter and more lego friendly.

I'd buy that as is.

I don’t get that at all.

It isn’t a model of a real truck, it is just a expensive lego model. It doesn’t fit with the VW Bus, Mustang, 911 etc.

If it was a Ford or a Chevy I’d be interested.

I don't find the Caterham as flimsy as some make out either. I purchased the below stand from ebay and apart from once when the whole thing was knocked off the shelf haven't had an issue with it coming apart when being dusted etc.
