Has anyone built the McLaren F1 from 76918? I can't get the front 'bonnet' assembly (step 95) to fit correctly.
Have you got a picture? I've just looked at mine and it's on pretty straight Whne I push down the 2x2 slope (big circle) is pushed up, and I can't put the 2x2 slopes to complete the wheel arch (small circle). Something is out by about a tile depth some where.

Looks like there's piece missing where it connects - step 77 did you add the 2x1 orange plates?
Meanwhile has anyone else seen the new corvette?

I bought that at full price when it came out for my other half and as cute as it is, it's disappointing in that it's pretty small. Good for that price, but I'm not convinced it's worth £50KTF said:

Amazingly, they have stock as well!I've got to say, after years of sticking to technic I've become a non-technic convert this last 12 months. There's often as much ingenuity in these sets due ti the way they achieve the shapes and they are much nicer to look at afterwards.
With the Speed Champions sets I can do them with my 4yo son as he doesn't have the dexterity for Technic yet, which has the benefit of making them easier to justify. Ignore the imposter Technic Mclaren which I still think is the most disappointing Lego set I've ever built.

I agree. Technic engines and gearboxes are the devil's spawn... In principle they are quite clever, but they usually end up with so much friction and slop that they don't function very well in practise. I have the big mobile crane from a few years ago and the motor struggles to turn the gears unless the batteries are straight out of the packet. I build RC cars as well, and from a mechanical perspective they give me much more satisfaction and probably why technic disappoints a bit.Gassing Station | Scale Models | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
