Will take some later as I had to abandon any fun thoughts of flying them around the galaxy, ahem, room, in departing for work. Can't really take pics of how flimsy my Defiant is, I'm going to pick up another one on the 12th when its out in physical shops.

Everything came in one box for me, DS9, 8 & 9 and the sub special. I'd drop them an email as I'd be surprised if that special came all on its own.

Mr 1138 is very much correct, I just read the same thing on the Facebook comments, I hadn't thought of that.

Ok, so just taken a quick snap before going out again. Hopefully this shows you the nice detail on the Defiant, it really is a top job.

I might have been harsh on the Excelsior on first viewing, I love the paint app on this as it looks like the DS9 CGI model of the ship.

I went in a couple of smiths today to see if I could find a decent Excelsior. Got two and both are better than my original subs copy, they have straight nacelles and no dodgy paint.

Neither WHSmiths had the DS9 special.

Ha, I've bought extras of everyone so far, but I like them too much to flog them.

Thats a bit of a white lie though, in the interests of giving Eaglemoss an early sales boost (so we reach my holy grail target of the Akira class) I bought a ton of Issue 1 Ent D's and I've been ebaying those for a little money.

Funny really, despite trek being off tv for nearly 9 years recently we seem to have been treated to some really good stuff this last year or so, decent books and some ships. I've had the 'Star Trek Stellar Cartography' book on pre-order and it arrived today, really nice item. The Haynes manual of the Bird of Prey is also a highlight (better than the Enterprise one). Good times.

I'll only get one of the Borg Sphere though, yawn.

Just a reminder, the Defiant is in the shops tomorrow, I have some WHSmith £5 off vouchers to use which is an amazing coincidence. smile

They have announced the next special after Deep Space 9, its the JJ Enterprise from the new films. Going to be 8.5inches so a sizeable increase on the normal ships. I approve, even if the JJ Ent isn't exactly the first word in design elegance.

I only have that Enterprise in Hot Wheels (quite good, and rare, got lucky on ebay) and a large Playmates kids toy style electronic starship which is a bit naff and I'll give to my kids one day.

WHSmith seemed to have more stock of the Defiant than Excelsior first thing this morning. Maybe it was just timing but there was a full shelf (4 or 5) plus another full box on the floor whereas two weeks ago with the Excelsior there were only a few.

What aren't you happy with about the Defiant? I agree its a compromise as it isn't a full on match to the physical model, and the nacelles feel a bit too swept in tight towards the rear, but other than that its one of the best I thought. Paint and sculpt are very nicely detailed.

I said last time my subs copy seemed poorly built and squeeked like a French cars dash, I can confirm that the other ones I picked up this morning are much more solid, no squeaks and the whole model is tight.

As for JJ Enterprise release, I'm not sure, I might ask on the FB page. As I recall the time between DS9 being shown and released wasn't very long, so it might be in the next couple of months.

Issue 11 is the Reliant (in a more Dominion war era Miranda class paint job it seems)
Issue 12 is the Akira
Issue 13 is the Jem Hadar cruiser
Issue 14 is the Cardassian Galor Class cruiser

Yep, my subs issue 10 and 11 turned up on Friday. Sphere is as good as can be expected, the Reliant is rather impressive imho. I have dozens of this ship class in other forms and the Eaglemoss is the best so far.

As for damaged 1701-D's, I'd drop them an email, they'll sort it. Some of the build quality has varied, all of my 1701-D's have been perfect but as I said a few posts back my first Defiant was a bit poor.

I just took a quick one the day they arrived. Have been meaning to do a little group comparison shot with the three or four other Miranda classes by various manufacturers I've gathered over the years but can't find some of their stands.

Anyway, Reliant and Sphere...

Yes, my subs delivery arrived yesterday and the Akira is out in shops today, happy days!

The Akira is brilliant, as is the Jem'Hadar battle cruiser.

The cubes nothing to write home about, but I've seen worse over the years, wouldn't have paid money for it so glad it isn't one of the specials, alright for free though.

We ordered three back issues from the website a week ago and they still haven't arrived, although we have been charged for all 3 according to PayPal, has anyone else had problems with this?
Back issue shipping does seem glacial. I really don't get EM as a company. As a subscriber my stuff arrives on the button on time but others seem to take ages/never get there. Their Facebook group is littered with complaints (more since the US release, they are a demanding lot!).

PS. Nice display 300. smile

I still can't get over the array of ships we've got, even if the line got cancelled tomorrow it puts some other producers entire ranges to shame.

Good shipment coming in a few weeks, Galor Class and Nova Class.

Glad things are starting to sort themselves out, I have a couple of extra first issues if they never sort you out with a restock.

The Jem Hadar battlecruiser is in shops today. It's a treat.

Got 3 shelves for all my stuff now. Did anyone else get charged twice this month? one 19.98 and one 19.99, I take that's payment for the bigger enterprise coming?
Yep, exactly that, the JJ Enterprise special is in shops in early March so we subscribers should get it with our normal shipment next week, fingers crossed.

Yep, I've had a few like that, but swapping around the bases and stands with some of my spares cured the issue, or like you I'd planned to glue to make it secure.

The Defiant is a particular bad one for wanting to 'break free', but again, not all seem to be. The one I have on my desk at work is solid, the one at home wants to pop out if you so much as cough near it.

Yep, mine arrived yesterday also...

JJprise is rather nice, certainly better than the hot wheels version which is the only one I have except for the slightly crappy much larger playmates electronic toy. Mines all straight and true and no panel gaps or damage. However, check out the Facebook group, some peoples look like total crap. I got lucky.

Nova class/Equinox is very nice, although my nacelles are a little wonky.

Galor is ok, oddly lacking in detail in some places making it look a little bland but still nice to have.

Yep you're not the only one, everyone except a very lucky minority are receiving extremely poor examples. Bent nacelles, paint damage, very poor shut lines.
